8” Mitre Saw Recommendations - Makita LS0816F vs Hikoki C8FSHG

As I don’t yet own a Mitre Saw yet I was letting someone more knowledgeable answer, but from what I’ve briefly read, it is setting the depth of the cut, typically with a screw. This is only really useful on sliding saws, as you can make a clean straight cut to a set depth, or do several in a row...

8” Mitre Saw Recommendations - Makita LS0816F vs Hikoki C8FSHG

Yea, Bosch have a couple of saws with very similar names. The GCM 800 SJ has no trenching, no expandable sides for material support, and no laser or shadow light. Whereas the GCM 8 SJL has all three of those, and a stopper to set the compound to standard angles. The 800 SJ can be found for £230...

8” Mitre Saw Recommendations - Makita LS0816F vs Hikoki C8FSHG

I could do with a mitre saw for a couple of projects I have coming up. 8 1/2” SCMS is big enough, so wondering if anyone has any experience / views on these two as I can’t find any review online. I’d assume the Makita is slightly better finish and quality, but not much to tell. The biggest...

What Router would you recommend for a beginner?

Ahh ok I get you, what I should have said was; I couldn't find an equivalent UK version with 240v of that model. How viable is it to import one and run it off an converter? Is this commonly done? Does it effect the power and use? The convert you linked to is going the other way right? that...

Lots? Name one place and I'll treat you to one too! The comments on the amazon pages just there are US 110v models.

What Router would you recommend for a beginner?

Sounds like a 1/4" is a good starting point. I definitely don't want to start with one of the very large ones, but thought the Bosch 1600 and DeWalt 618 were a good mid size, between the two.

What Router would you recommend for a beginner?

Hi, I'm looking to get my first router to expand my woodworking options. However the selection in the UK seems very different to the rest of the world, so most of the online / YT guides don't help. Specifically we seem to not have any that come with a plunge and fixed base. There must be some...

Which shop vacs have a 35mm hose so I can attach the DeWalt Airlock connector to it?

Thanks. Do you remember which 35mm hose you ordered? I'm struggling to find any. Was it nice and flexible? The supplied one with the DXV20P is very stiff.

Which shop vacs have a 35mm hose so I can attach the DeWalt Airlock connector to it?

I'm in Dewalt tools and needed a general shop vac for cleaning, and that I could also hook up to the tools for dust extraction. The DeWalt connector that attaches to most of their tools is called an Airlock (AIRLOCK DUST CONNECTION SYSTEM MAIN CONNECTOR | DEWALT), and required a 35mm hose to...

Double ground vs triple ground teeth on a handsaw?

Wondering what the difference is between double and triple ground teeth on handsaws? Manufactures make claims that the triple ground cut 50% faster, can cut on both the push and pull stroke, and give a smoother finish. But is any of this true in reality or just marketing? Have you got enough...
