Douglas fir for sash windows? Is pretty rot resistant for a softwood and not crazy price. In our house they're all pitch pine which have stood up for 100 years apart from the bottoms where neglected for decades! But don't think can get pitch pine these days of comparable quality to the old stuff.

Hi Barfitter, I bought a K5 recently too, looks like you maybe got three belts with yours... do you know what the belt dimensions are for the planer and the spindle moulder please? I've got an 810mm belt which I think is for the saw, but think I need new belts for the other two functions kind...

Hi Bob that's very kind - I'll PM you. Apparently the motor is burnt out, hopefully not and is something fixable. Otherwise there's a motor rewinder local to me, or I wonder if my site saw motor might fit (Elektra Beckum) which is good quality, might just struggle if spindles not the same size...

Hi do you still have these bits for the Kity K5 please? I've bought one which I'm picking up this weekend - I don't think it has much tooling with it or a belt so would be interested. Thanks Mike
