    Hello everyone

That's very cool Crumpet, nice job! Another welcome from the Midlands!

Triton TPT125 - Anyone know if this is normal?

That is very handy to know, thank you. I shall be doing that on tonight's tests! Haha, maybe it was me being on the receiving end of a Friday job then! I know what I'm like on a Friday night so I suppose I can't hold too much bad will against them. :censored: Fingers crossed the Makita is all...

Triton TPT125 - Anyone know if this is normal?

You're absolutely right, and I backed right off when doing some additional tests, even doing quarter- and then half-turns which, if I remember rightly, equated to a max of ~.8mm or so. The thud was accompanied by the wood making a quick upward rock prior to then being engaged by the cutter. So...

Triton TPT125 - Anyone know if this is normal?

Yeah that's exactly what would happen, and I'd just not settle with it. Last night I removed the 8 screws that hold the side rails and then checked there was nothing causing a lift somewhere, which there wasn't. And, in reattaching those side rails, I placed enough pressure to flatten the...

Triton TPT125 - Anyone know if this is normal?

    Not even a Makita?

Triton TPT125 - Anyone know if this is normal?

Exactly that... I don't doubt there are some things that can be done to make it suitable but, if I'm honest, I don't like giving time to something that I kind of expect to not be an issue and which represents the overall quality of the manufacturing. So, I have the Makita in another browser...

Triton TPT125 - Anyone know if this is normal?

Yep, I tried that too and no difference either.

Triton TPT125 - Anyone know if this is normal?

I spent a good while doing this Terry once I'd first seen the results (i.e. some snipe). As it happens, when I was using a level with magnets on one side and I noticed the bed move very slightly when I went to lift the level. Aside from that, I ended up going with what the guy in the video...

Triton TPT125 - Anyone know if this is normal?

Thanks for the vide, that's a good spot. You know what Mike, I was almost ready to go for the Makita until I saw this Triton and read a couple of reviews, which made me think it was worth the punt. But, whereas I'd expect the Makita to have just worked like all the other tools I have of theirs...

Triton TPT125 - Anyone know if this is normal?

I did take a look and, other than the 4 screws on each side, I cannot see any other areas for adjustment

Triton TPT125 - Anyone know if this is normal?

That is extremely helpful everyone, thank you. Huge help, and I think the conclusion is a return. I'm now just playing with the idea of going straight for a Makita for that next level up of build quality now I'm Triton-tainted. Any other suggestions would be greatly received!

Triton TPT125 - Anyone know if this is normal?

Ha, it is hard remotely, I understand! Thank you for the help though. I did mean to include there is a fairly significant amount of snipe on the front of the board. The thud could well be the mechanism engaging but, and I'll have to run another piece through to make 100% sure, the impression I...

Triton TPT125 - Anyone know if this is normal?

Hey all My first post, so go easy on me, but glad to be here! I have just got a Triton TPT125 thicknesser but I seem to encounter something a bit unexpected, which is this: When I push the wood in and allow the roller to begin feeding it towards the blade, it seems to get pushed down into the...
