    Herring LONDON

    Found a chisel in an op shop today. “HERRING BROS LONDON” and on the reverse is stamped "PRIZE MEDALS" at least I think it is 'Medals" but could be 'Metals" ? though doubtful of the latter. Will post images once i have cleaned it and can view the stamping more clearly.

    Mostly Green-wood worker but have set up a workshop for some more refined work and winter use... age certainly curtails ones tolerance for outdoor woodworking activities in the depths of winter. Obligatory workshop pictures attached. :)

    I have inherited my late father's Record 53E vise. He bought it new in the '70s , fitted it to a small bench and used it perhaps 2 dozen times then gave up woodworking (never really started) and mothballed it. I fitted it to my workbench and discovered an oddity...when the quick release is used...
