    Building Bridges

6mm per pass over 600mm a beast of a machine! great finish too. I have a spiral cutting head in my modest machine(no where near capable of your tasks) and it does make all the difference with the cuts, the shear and shavings are far less work on the machine! looking forward to the Mafell !

Alternative to the festool ETS EC150

With no disrespect to your alternative brands, the models you've picked are not suitable to edge sanding MDF. Edge sanding requires a lightweight compact style sander, add low vibration and dust collection (extractor essential) and you only have 2 options, the Festool...

    Building Bridges

It just so happens i built a bridge based on the mathematical bridge in Cambridge. You can find it on The West Wycombe Estate (Sir Edward Dashwood) National Trust site. The original bridge was built in Iroko and was a replica of the aforementioned bridge but sadly only lasted 25 or so years...

    Blotches through paint

Id hazard a guess it's some sticky residue from some type of kids toy . There are all manor of cheap oily sticky toys that kids get hold of and throw all over the place... That is the voice of experience talking!

    Multitool advice

I would go with a corded Fein, it would be a tool for the rest of your life. Yes battery options are great , but for the odd DIY user the batteries are likely to let you down in a few years as well as cost a lot more from the off. Fein are the grandaddy's of multi tools. They are quiet and...

Sayerlack for door and frame ?

I can't speak about other brands as Sayerlack was the first industrial paint i started to use for spraying, AA and HVLP , and I've never had the need to look elsewhere. I use WB mainly on interior mdf for wardrobes etc and its a 2 primer/build and 1 topcoat system. I have used their WB...

    Big gap under internal doors

Could you not just add 18mm mdf to the tops of the lining and leave the architrave's alone, set it back 6mm from either side to create a check, paint it all in, most people wouldn't have a clue. Do one first without the customer knowing the fix, see if they can tell? you could open a can of...

    The screw up fairy…

Working on building sites if someone had a whoopsie we used to say.... 'There's 3 up's on a job, Muck up, Tea up, and one of those (points finger)' :ROFLMAO:

If you love walnut and are of a sensitive disposition, look away now!

I also was requested to make an exterior walnut bench seat, after several attempts to persuade the customer to re think the material we finally agreed they would have a custom exterior tarp made to measure and would be fitted at all times the seat was not in use, (7 months of the year id say! )...
