    No Fault Evictions

Just a quick comment from someone who until very recently was an 'accidental landlord' in Wales, where licences are issued, no fault evictions are no longer an option, standards of properties are tighter than in England, exams need to be passed and landlord licences issued etc. Personally, I...

    THE FOURTH OF JULY

Hellllp. "We have had human rights for years and they been upheld by the justice system in the UK, we do not need some EU bureaucrat with a grudge to tell us about human rights." EU bureaucrats have nothing to do with the ECHR". In fact, the 1998 Human Rights Act enables people of the...

    THE FOURTH OF JULY

Please go and read. The ECHR has nothing to do with EU law and never has had. A common misconception but one that needs to be understood if one is to have form a constructive opinion on the ECHR.

    Rust Remover--'Jenolite'

Quite simple really. I keep animals for my own consumption and occasionally rear a few geese for that purpose. As little goslings are vulnerable, I start by rearing them in captivity, but with access to a small outdoor run. However, they do like to splash in water, even as youngsters, so I gave...

    Rust Remover--'Jenolite'

Deox C for me. Although it is citric acid with a few other things in. If you can warm the solution slightly it speeds up the process. It can be purchased in gel form or powder to make a solution to soak things in. Failing that, I have discovered that goose pooh works really well.

New EU power tool battery rules from 2025

But at least I can have a bash at fixing it myself once the warranty has expired

What can go on top of creosote to mask the smell?

Have you consulted Section 8 of the Anti Social Behaviour Act 2003? It covers high-hedges. Or, if you live in Scotland, you have the High Hedges Act (Scotland) Act 2013 which offers similar relief.

URGENT - please read this - scam alert

Having little money and refusing to use internet or phone banking is my great defence against scams. If my card is stolen and by some stroke of luck (theirs) they got the pin correct, attempting to spend more than tenner will likely result in refusal. lol. Granted this is a rubbish way for...

URGENT - please read this - scam alert

Please don't get job supporting or even helping people unless they're are as hard, wonderfully intelligent, cynical and obviously sorted as yourself. It might do for you to read the Mental Capacity Act 2005.

    Here's my one

You sound like someone who has used an outfit! Yes, you do NOT lift the sidecar-wheel under any circumstances BUT if you do, you need to pull the cutch in before the wheel makes contact with the road. On the upside, no drag on acceleration or braking either, and much less handle bar wobble so it...

    Here's my one

IN my 60's, two buggered hips due to a mild hip deformity giving me 90 yr old hips but still getting my leg over (the bike you grubby lot,). A Kawasaki ER-5 is all I can afford currently but a great bike for 500 quid and travels long distance really well. It hurts to mount it and hurts like hell...

They obviously didn't have the optional extra ABS corgi fitted. (see earlier posts)

    Joke Thread III

As I understand it, it actually takes longer to stop with ABS than non-ABS if you aren't just slamming the pedal down. The advantage, again as I understand it, is that you can still steer and brake hard, which is of course a damn fine idea. Great pic to explain though although as the non-ABS dog...

    Have you noticed....

That's why they're a SUSPECT until conviction or otherwise. The State accuses and then tries to prove the case, not the victim. The victim of the alleged crime is merely a witness to a crime against the state.

    Have you noticed....

They often play 'Social workers' mental health practitioners, drug-support worker and so-on because those services have been cut to the bone in recent years (not just under this current lot). Just becasue the services have been removed, it doesn't mean the need for them has disappeared but...

    Brass curtain track

Far too much I would guess. One of the reasons I like it is because it outlasts plastic and aluminium. I also like the noise it makes when drawing the curtains and it just works so well. Furthermore, I am making very thick thermal curtains and know the brass will take them better than plastic...

    Brass curtain track

Thanks for the above. I didn't know that it was also referred to as "505 track" so that may well be useful when searching online. Hunter ad Hyland were the ones that wanted 200 quid plus. A little out of my league but in fairness to them, I guess for average income bods, it isn't too bad really...

    Brass curtain track

Hi all. I am an old fashioned chap and like old things. This has led me to wanting to find some brass curtain track for the curtains I'm making currently. I have thus far only found one snazzy company in the Dis-United Kingdom that can provide me with such a thing, and they know it is hard to...

Rage evolution mitre saw cut quality advice

Love my Evolution Rage but yes, I do joinery with it, not cabinet making. I'm more of a metal than a wood worker, hence my choice of saw as I need to cut 50x50 rsa etc. as well as building-joinery. If I want accuracy of an angled cut, I still use my sliding bevel rather than the markings on the...

Sash windows build advice on compliance..

"half corrugated lung disease:". My understanding is that the corrugated stuff, which is encased in cement, is not the issue that the stuff used for lagging, and so on is. They still charge a fortune for removing it though!
