    UK online safety law

Good point. Thanks (I know it's against the rules to agree with someone else's point around here, but this is a first offence, so please take that into account)

    UK online safety law

I have no doubt that, whatever the legislation is aimed at, there will be some cases where it's misapplied or abused. Whenever we introduce new offences, there are people and organisations itching to exercise their new powers. Examples I can remember off the top of my head (there will be others)...

    Hand router plane...

$99 shipping when I just looked. The Hongdui ships free from Banggood. I’m not arguing that the Hongdui is better than the others - just that it’s a great choice for someone who wants excellent quality at a very good price.

    Hand router plane...

Possibly, but they’re Hongdui is extremely well made from good quality materials, so you’d want to know what it is that would merit the extea

    Hand router plane...

They’ll be good, but they’re about twice the price of the Hongdui/KM.

    Hand router plane...

I got one of these a while ago. Very well made and easy to use with a little care. Very good value, I think, compared to the quality competition

Thin 0.25mm guitar string type wire

It isn’t 😢 Guitar players develop callouses after a while. Players who get over-enthusiastic before the callouses develop get bleeding fingers.

Powertool World - any experiences of this online retailer??

Used them a few times - they’ve been good on price, delivery and communication. I’ll happily use them again

Folkstone Fixings (FFX) placed into Administration

I think you’re underestimating the skill invoking placing the holes precisely so as to create the aesthetic effect imagined by the creative mind behind the design 😹😹😹😹

Folkstone Fixings (FFX) placed into Administration

I expect the name and domain, together with the subscriber list, came as a package. Anyway, it's quite common for companies to keep using a brand name when they buy assets of a defunct company. Mike Ashley's Frasers Group has a shedload of brand names that exist only as labels on stock. ITS...

Folkstone Fixings (FFX) placed into Administration

I’ve bought from ITS several times. Prices and service have been good. It makes sense for them to buy the FFX name & domain and it’s proper that they let us know. I’ve seen cases in the past where the new owner has hidden the change in the small print.

    Which Table Saw?

Sorry, no. I have he Hikoki cordless with the mains charger
  13. N

    Which Table Saw?

You might look at Metabo - similar to the 240v Hikoki (IIRC, there’s some shared heritage)

    The best portable table saw?

I second the Hikoki/Hitachi - well made, rack & pinion, good trolley. Cheaper than the DeWalt too

Car tax / road fund licence

This is correct. Not that it needed me to say so, but I thought another actual response to the actual question would be helpful

Is it worth buying premium tools if you don't use them enough ? Metabo grinder.

They're owned by the same company (Koki Holdings). They operate as Hikoki in Europe and Japan and Metabo HPT in the USA and Canada,

WILL BE SELLING SOME TOOLS IN THE NEAR FUTURE, HEREFORD AREA

+1 for Gumtree. I've sold some bits and pieces (including a table saw) reasonably easily and quickly

    Stolen tools news article

Why single out tools? Are tools the only stolen goods sold? No bicycles, cameras, video gear - all stuff that's been stolen from people I know? Why not ban boot sales altogether? Better ban eBay, Gumtree, Vinted etc while we're about it. And, as @Phil Pascoe says, there's a lot of legitimate...

    Wadkin RS banjo dimensions

The instrument originated with African slaves in the Caribbean and N America, evolved from various African types of instrument made in the same way - skin stretched over a hollow bowl or frame, with a neck and strings. The name might be from African roots (places or materials) or from something...
