    Atco admiral 16s lawnmower manual?

Allett's got back to me very quickly but sadly this not one of the models they took on.

Thanks for your digging, Tris. I will prod Allett!

    Atco admiral 16s lawnmower manual?

Thanks Tris. I tried the oldlawnmowerclub site and, as you say, they favour older models but someone there might know where to look!

    Atco admiral 16s lawnmower manual?

Apologies for going off topic but I have picked up a lovely old Atco admiral lawnmower and would like to be able to keep it going so I was hoping to be able to find a user manual. I tried Atco but they say it was nade before their time (by Bosch, apparently). It has a Briggs and Stratton engine...

Recommend me the best countersink for wood / ply

I can't remember where I saw someone's advice to run a countersink counterclockwise to clean up the hole but I have found this to be quite effective in removing ridges and I suspect it provides a better seat for the screwhead too by 'packing' the grain.

    Passwords

I use fingerprint recognition where possible - very quick, secure and simple (except after I have been doing a lot of sanding when my fingerprints are unrecognisable!)

    THE FOURTH OF JULY

If I am clever enough to find ways to accumulate more than my share of wealth (my gains are other people's losses) why shouldn't I also be allowed to hold on to a higher proportion of 'my' wealth. How else can I ensure that my children inherit the advantages I have enjoyed, giving them a head...

    Sharpening

It is really not so difficult to make your own gouge sharpening jig (patterns available online). It doesn't have to involve metalworking! I think a Totmek type wet grinder is better suited to fine woodworking chisels and plane blades than lathe tools where a mirror finish and razor edge is not...

Wall cupboard next to a combi boiler

Having recently had my boiler repaired (under guarantee, replacing clogged heat exchanger) I would reiterate the points made above about access. Technician had to take off sides and front of boiler and needed access from the sides so it might be best to make sides of cupboard easy to remove.

    Cleaning abrasives

+1 for artificial wine corks. Best for a smaller disk

What a lovely idea - both beautiful in itself and a perfect memento

    Replacement thermostat for room heater

Sorry to post this in general woodworking but I know a lot of you know a lot about electrics. I have a very basic electric room heater (EWT EW CN 20) which started cutting out and staying off after just a few minutes. It is very simple to take the back off and access the thermostat switch...

    Sharpening

I just had a look and if it really is £139 for the full package that is a bargain!

Bought my first lathe yesterday 😁

Join a club or a men's shed if you have one nearby. Youtube is great (especially Richard Raffan and Tomislav Tomasic who give good explanations of why they do what they do) but you can't beat first hand learning from someone who knows what they are doing. But be prepared to get many different...

    Canabis farms

Alcohol, tobacco and many other drugs which clearly cause harm and cost the NHS huge amounts every year are legal because they provide tax revenue (and because they are organised into massive, highly profitable corporations which can afford to lobby governments and resist regulation). I have yet...

Small shop dust extractor - Rutlands or Record?

My home made dust collection hood for my lathe is made from a 5 Lt plastic container with one side cut out. The vac hose fits nicely in what was the top. I also have an 'enclosure' around the lathe, repurposed from a large cardboard box, to contain most of the shavings.

Small shop dust extractor - Rutlands or Record?

Quite so, Themack. I also have an adapted powered respirator (Trend Airshield) to protect my lungs and a Titan shop vac, with cyclone bucket, to hook up to individual tools as I use them - and for general clean up. The Microclene is more to take dust out of the air to keep it from gathering on...

Small shop dust extractor - Rutlands or Record?

I was looking for a dust extractor for my tiny workshop and found a little 'microclene' cylinder extractor on FB, new for £35. Super simple but ideal for my shop and now plugged into a smart socket so I can control it via Alexa or my phone. Now I just have to get out there and give the shop a...

    It's all about the angles...

It looks like a great exercise for getting the hang of intersections on multiple planes but I don't think I could get my head around it now!
