Managed to release with a chisel and bigger hammer!! No damage done to spindle thankfully. Will definitely use the coller next time the drive centre gets fitted. Thanks again for responses, much appreciated

Thanks for quick response, will give it a try. Just sorting through box of bits and found the collar that should have been fitted to ease removal. Hopefully a bit more hammering will free it. 👍

Tried in a number of sockets but no difference. Is there anyway of checking the NVR mag switch? Thanks for suggestions so far.

Thanks. Not sure how to check voltage but saw is in garage and socket comes straight from consumer unit so should be sufficient. Never had an issue with any other power tool. Not sure where else I could plug in.

HamsterJam - if skeetstar doesn’t take you up on your faceplate offer I would be happy to buy it off you. The one that came with ML8 I’ve just bought has a worn thread that won’t fit on the shaft due to both having worn badly. Thanks Dave

Hi all, screw Chuck arrived and fits ok, there is sufficient thread on the shaft to hold it. Now on the look out for a replacement face plate to suit which is 1” x 12tpi if anyone has one to sell. Thanks Dave

Thanks, it is the correct face plate as two supplied with different sizes. There is still some thread but very worn so it may be I need to locate a new face plate. The outboard one is hardly used so ok. I’ve also ordered a screw chuck so hopefully this will fit 😬. Thanks again
