Wanted Still looking: Spares for AGS10 Rebuild: Ghib Plate casting and MEM Rotary Swichfuse

No problem... but, I'm also one of those people who has actually deleted their facebook accounts as well, so I'm probably SOL as we like to say here... lol

Wanted Still looking: Spares for AGS10 Rebuild: Ghib Plate casting and MEM Rotary Swichfuse

Hmmm, any email posted with that? Honestly would feel a bit strange about just rando-calling from the states to see if he has other stuff! Appreciate you reaching out with a heads-up though! KT

Wanted Still looking: Spares for AGS10 Rebuild: Ghib Plate casting and MEM Rotary Swichfuse

Just this site's "conversations" (little envelope icon in the upper right hand of the site navigation). I was just going to have to fabricate something anyway so having the casting will save me a ton of trouble! Just sent you another message.

Wanted Still looking: Spares for AGS10 Rebuild: Ghib Plate casting and MEM Rotary Swichfuse

Unfortunately, I haven't heard from anyone... I have run across several on ebay in the past that were for the BAOS and its brothers... they came with just the front box and the guts, so I think they might be more common than finding a fully enclosed one like they used on the Table saws.

    What finish for bleached teak?

Umm, yea. That's what I ended up doing in the absence of a good answer and now have a deck with about 40% cupped or checked boards. We have this thing called the sun here in California and the deck hadn't been properly maintained before I purchased the property. Ipe, teak and similar woods do...

    Who needs a planer/thicknesser anywy?

Flat-ish... I love the clapped-out planer that is already on some version of the electrical cord down from its first (with the two mended spots where it has also gotten run over itself)... I just kept waiting for it to say "i give up" and die in a cloud of smoke. Amazing wood though...

    What finish for bleached teak?

Just something to think about, but I was looking into finishes for my ipe deck and honestly never got a good answer... every person I spoke with had some different approach. What they all did have in common though was saying that for any finish to really stick to ipe, teak, etc was to be sure to...

Just for Fun: Stanley Safety Saw.. an Early Worm Drive Circular Saw

This is just for fun, but thought some here would find this interesting. Apparently the first worm drive hand-held circular saws were developed sometime in the 1920s, but they didn't take on the form that you find them in today (think the modern Skillsaw or some euro hypoid saws) until the...

Wadkin 10" AGS and BAOS 12"

Looks great! I'm painting mine white inside as well. Wasn't sure about the choice at first, but really like it as I can actually see what is going on with everything in there. haha That deep blue looks really good as well (mine will be dark grey). Definitely post more pics!

Baby Wadkin Bursgreen in California: Advice on an AGS10

Just an interesting aside. Recently saw some pictures from a big 16" Invicta (An actually quite well made Brazilian machine... not sure if they were imported into the UK or not. Many were rebadged as Delta here in the US like this one) saw. The trunnion set up in the saw is almost a dead-ringer...

    Advice on spindle moulder purchase

I would just add to a previous poster's feedback.... I too have a Wadkin Bursgreen BER2. While basic (as noted, no tilt spindle), it is about as heavy duty a machine you can get into a footprint like it has. It is beautifully made (ductile iron table, not grey), hefty for its size (about 800lbs)...

Baby Wadkin Bursgreen in California: Advice on an AGS10

Figured I should update this.... Finished the "updates" to the WB AGS arbor/flanges/etc. Things take a surprising amount of time when you can't really chance messing something up. :) Also, I'm in the middle of stripping all the cabinets of the nasty green paint and that seems to take forever as...

Wanted Still looking: Spares for AGS10 Rebuild: Ghib Plate casting and MEM Rotary Swichfuse

HI All, I'm well into the restore of my 1979 AGS 10. Unfortunately, the AGS 10 from that era came with a "value engineering upgrade" in the area of the ghib plate that captures the back of the second trunnion. It basically doesn't work because as the trunnion drops the weight of the motor will...

    Aligning an AGS10

I'll measure everything on my table this weekend and let you know what I find. I assume this Gib casting just bolted right into the holes that were there correct? I definitely need to find one of those as well if it did... if anyone has a spare lying around the shop somewhere definitely...

    Aligning an AGS10

I have the same miter. Measure the bar and I can measure mine and see if there is any difference. Also measure the miter slots at three different places (inch from front, dead middle, and inch from back) and I can re-measure mine to see if you have any wear in the slot. My saw was only used for...

    Aligning an AGS10

This is the same process I went though trying to diagnose the "AGS stutter"... i.e. the rise/fall will rise smoothly, but on the fall will hang up and do nothing and then suddenly drop a centimeter or so at a time. I corresponded with Miles on this forum about it and after investigation came up...
