Thank you for posting this interesting story and pics, Richard. I'm ill at the moment so haven't got the energy to comment much - but I love your tool chest and I hope you enjoyed the Warrington Chest book.

Hi, Danny, I'm going through a period of illness at the moment that robs me of the energy to type very much - suffice it to say that I just love your new tool chest, my friend. My apologies for the briefness of my comment.

My friend, those chisels of yours look absolutely gorgeous!

Chisels - I could quit if I wanted.

Probably my fault - perhaps I should have said, they all bear the same owners stamp and they are all by Moulson Bros.

Chisels - I could quit if I wanted.

They all bear the same owners stamp but the seller insisted on selling them as individual lots.

These are rather gorgeous, Danny, but I'm getting a bit worried that you may be turning into a magnet - have you noticed any difference in your pulling power lately?

Moulson Brothers Sheffield. The gouges and paring chisel are approximately 21 inches in length. I bought them off a stall in the eBay car park a few years ago.

    Got any recommendations for squares?

These came from the tool chest of a gentleman by the name of G. Hallam (Nottingham England 1901. Sadly his tool chest, which was full of tools, was bought by someone who possibly not knowing of its historical interest sold it all off in different lots.

    Another sharping thread.

I believe he buys his boxwood from a gentleman by the name of Hugh Crompton - see link below. Hugh lives in England but he does export to buyers in the U.S.A https://ebts.org/uk/2021/the-best-english-boxwood-is-to-be-found-in-wales/

    Another sharping thread.

I had this rather beautiful Belgian Coticule stone until a few years ago when I gifted it to a friend who lives in Atlanta, Georgia... He loved it so much that he made this gorgeous box for it out of English Boxwood.

    Rats in the garden

You could try making TV stars out of them as happened to my little Roland back in 2018. Roland was viewed by about half a million people and I didn't get one snide comment about my dirty kitchen windows... Grin!
