Thank you for the link it definately looks as if this could be what it is, as there are a few lathe etc up in the workshop

We are in the process of clearing out my dads workshop and shed, full of hand tools and power tools came across this and have no idea what it is, it looks like a router attaches......anyone help us out? Hope pictures attaches ok, as i havent used forums in years
