    Fitted the face plate (is that the right term) on the right hand side, returning into the chimney breast. Also, I fitted strips of timber to pack out the hinges, so that the bits on the side would look wider. Oh how I wish I knew the right terms... I seem to have jumped a couple of steps...

    Thanks Rodders. As mentioned, I can't claim any of the credit (other than paying for it....). The finish is Ronseal Diamond Hard Clear Satin.
