That makes sense. I wanted to try my first small bowl, so might give this a go. We have an abundance of pine and spruce at the farm. Loads dried for at least 2 years for firewood so think I'll dabble with that.

I recently received an old lathe with a plethora of extras. This piece looks like a screw chuck type thing. It separates into two with a small version inside.
Am I close to the mark or way off course?
