    Thanks for the replies! Yes I'm concluding it's a simple chuck. Makes a good paperweight! Yes it's a solid machine for sure, though the spindle thread size is a bit of a pain but I shouldn't be needing more faceplates for a while. A chuck would be handy though! Cheers!
