Can a wax stick be used before finishing? I'm finishing something naturally with a wax paste finish and there are a few imperfections in the wood, I can't find a filler that matches the wood but the wax sticks are a very good match.
In the end I just removed the veneer. The birch underneath is really nice! So I'm finishing them naturally. Need to remove lots of yellow glue though, would it be too aggressive to use a belt sander with a highish grit sandpaper?
