Bandsaw question, what does this gauge represent?

This is clearly an older machine....with an aftermarket fence (WOT- no adjustments??) Way back in ?the late 70's when import machines came on shore, the MFG was with totally subcontracted to small foundries, and I recall that many green castings were machined, but subsequently warped....I had...

    mortise chisel for cordless drill

mortice chisels are relatively inexpensive, and I haven't yet found the gospel that says you cannot hit them with a hammer. Of course they will never fit into a mortice chiselholder BUT the tiny points will splay as it's hammered in, so a few taps and you have to stone them flush again Too...

    Interesting plastic drilling

I take ordinary drill bits and grind off the sharp edge with a dremel such that it is maybe a slightly negative rake-all the same as a plexiglass saw blade. This scrapes rather than cuts Once modified, they get a tag of tape saying "plexiglass" and tossed in a small drawer of specialized drill...

    Hinge Jig

I've got several different hing jigs, but I don't even bother with them for a single door, it's quicker and neater for me to use a butt gauge and careful measurment 15 doors, I'd certainly be using a jig....don't forget the wood filler to fill the nail/screw holes

    Screw removal from gate help.

when I ws repairing antiques, I purchased every "broken screw removal " tool I could find. They were all inadequate in one aspect or another. The panacea I found was a split roll pin, which are available in many sizes inexpensively. A quik dremel cut off wheel turned the edge of the "split"...

Ulmia 348 Mitre Saw binding/stopping issue

Are you trying to force it down to cut quicker? It seems to me that yer seemingly trying to force it to cut. I dunno how many times I've told hand-saw users to relax and just let the saw do it's work. That ws advice from my grandfather and uncle whom were both cabinetmakers/contractors Try...

Anyone use a pop up spray tent ?

I have one, used it once and then opted for a lawn gazebo. Why? While it might hold a man door, you cannot rotate it, and moreover, you cannot get it out easily if the finish is even slightly soft. So on a man door, it's likely five/six or more sprays to finish both sides and edges. Hardly...
