    Just an aside, but if you’re planning on using them below the water line, immersed in salt water, avoid brass. The zinc gets eaten away, leaving a skeleton of copper. Best wishes.

    If they are beech, I would not recommend using it outdoors. It doesn’t do well. Ask me how I know.

    I think I would make a thing resembling a cribbage board. Maybe 3 - one for metric, one for Imperial, and a third for BSF. Good luck.
