Nice work so far but you need some dpm underneath the timber base. The base is going to be sitting on the ground 24/7 365 days a year with nothing to stop the damp getting into it. If there isn't any dpm at all under the base ? The damp will transfer straight through the packers into the base...

Them slide hammers are very handy when space is tight,used to use them all the time when concrete shuttering on site. Obviously there a bit bigger than this one we used but ideal for nailing between re-bar.
