Wadkin 10" AGS and BAOS 12"

Today was my first day of using the saw for actual propper work and I have to say how nice it was compared to the cheap flimsy jobsite saw I've been using until now. It cuts so smoothly and effortlessly and doesn't make nearly as much noise as the cheapo. My only gripe is the stop switch...

Wadkin 10" AGS and BAOS 12"

After feeling like death warmed up all week and not having the energy to do any after work projects, I finally spent a couple of hours in the workshop today and got the AGS finished off and running. I even treated it to a new blade. Truth be told, I've got some cabinets to make next week for...

Wadkin 10" AGS and BAOS 12"

I'm not progressing with this as quickly as I'd hoped do to one thing and another, but here's how it stands currently. All parts have been removed, cleaned, checked and painted. The top is ready to go back on too, but not got round to it yet.

    Oak door

What are peoples thoughts on Accoya for external doors? As already mentioned, it'll be painted, so it's not that the conservation officer is wanting the look of exposed oak. I'm going to talk to them and see if I can get them to be a bit more open minded.

    Watts Brothers morticer?

A chap locally is clearing his late fathers workshop and has what he's described as a Watts Bros morticer for sale. Does anyone have any experience of these and would it be a worthwhile purchase? I can't find anything on the interwebs about it, so wonder whether its a Watts Bros motor on a...

    Oak door

Unfortunately the door needs replacing as it's currently got a nice 1980's interpretation of a country cottage door 🙄

    Sprayer

I quite often get asken to paint projects for customers, but usualy just use a brush or roller as I do it at their house. Now I have a workshop I was thinking it might be a good time to upgrade to some kind of sprayer. I'll be using it mainly to apply paint finishes, so what are your...

    Oak door

I've already asked, it covers the whole building, as stated on the Historic England website

    Oak door

Unfortunately, being a listed building we are at the mercy of the planners and conservationist 🙄🤦‍♂️

    Oak door

We are just about to buy a grade 2 listed farm house, but as expected it comes with some things that we've been told need to be changed, one of which is the front door. The conservation officer as stated that it should be an oak 6 panel Georgian style with glazed to panels. Admittedly it will be...

    Workshop doors

I rent the workshop and will be doing the doors as a good will gesture, hence keeping it cheap. They are an odd size, so I'm not sure how easily I could find some donors that are tall enough.

    Workshop doors

The doors in my workshop have seen better days, so I'd like to replace them. They are currently timber (probably pine) and consist of a pair of side hung doors in an opening around 2m high and aprox 1.5m wide. I'd like to keep the cost as low as possible, so was wonderring if using readily...

    Riving knife

Stripped the rest of the saw down today and found the riving knife bracket is broken. I can get a new one lazer cut, but is it worth me having a few done to sell, or is there not much of a demand for these?

    Joinery Workshops

I'm in the process of starting a workshop after a change of direction with my business. I don't currently have any work I can offer you, but if you need a workshop then we should have a chat as it could benefit us both. I'm based in the SK22 area not a million miles from Manchester.

    Angle Grinder Direction of Rotation

You can get grinders that go the other way. Years ago when I worked for a tool hire company we decided to wind the sales rep up by pretending to have a customer looking for such a grinder. To our suprise they were easy to get hold of, the joke was on us 🙄🤣
