I was sent a picture of an infested piece Chas,that the supplier was selling,which i can't find now,and it looked very similar to what we have.

I will have to get them turned Chas :D I did make enquiries some time ago about the wood and was told it was some sort of Aussie root which had been got at by some grub,hence the holes :?:

Looks good Pete. How about cutting a true circle out the middle and fitting a larger bowl so it sits in the hole,leaving plenty of the log rim showing :?: :?:

It all depends on the condition of it all Paul. A piccy or two would help if you can.

Isn't that the tool Lyle Jamieson took on,and improved as his hollowing rig that you had Allen :?:

I use a black Bic CD permamnent marker for the lighter woods and a white Uni ball sign marker,Signo, for the darker woods,after the finish has been applied.Not that i do sign many :( :D

Hello and welcome Babylon355 :D Looks to be a good form from what i can see,and the finial looks good,as finials go,but is hard to see how it looks with this piece the way the piccy has been taken. :( So next time get a nice profile shot of your pieces :wink: :D

I can see the form that we see quite a lot of in wodturning,where the base is narrower and turned under in the classic pottery styles but they mostly seem to have a foot on,or a wider base :?
