My Bee Hive i made from all recycled Timber,

Old beekeepers often have young apprentices, this is not to pass on their wisdom but help with the lifting!

My Bee Hive i made from all recycled Timber,

Flat roof / gabled roof is often the difference between what is good for the bees and what is easy for the beekeepers! Great to see hive here, fellow beekeeper of almost 50 years now and third generation :).

Looking for help with timber buying for a workbench project

In a similar okay to the OP. I had squirred away 25 or so 38mm x 140mm (approx) x 2.4m CLS16 timbers two or so years ago for this build but now thinking about redwood. Got a price today of £9.35/m for 50mm x 150mm from local yard, is this too expensive?

    Long Clamp Advice

Just to add my 2p worth. I have Bessey parallel jaw clamps. I have no doubt they were the best I could buy at the time, HOWEVER I rarely use they full ability and turn to lighter clamps first most often (Bessey and other makes). I think the point I am making is we over engineer what we actually...

    Air filter

Properly sited they will surprise you in their effectiveness. You will easily notice the difference even between your cleaned dusty workshop and the rest of your living space. Air is fresh and has a sparkle about it when left on overnight. Highly recommended, I went for the Record Power one as...

Air source Heat Pumps any good?

we have had a suggestion to put PV on the pool which I have resisted. I pointed out to them all we need to do is heat water to 25 degrees so why not just heat water with sun? There seems a desire to throw tech at problems when it is not the solution.

Air source Heat Pumps any good?

I use an ASHP to heat an outdoor swimming pool but would be very reluctant to recommend them to a domestic user atm.

Matchfit dovetail clamp system or UJK dovetail T track for the mitre track on router table?

I have holes and match fit system, both work well. I probably use holes more for clamping and the match fit for jigs / feather boards. Relief bit works well (I have the match fit ones) but anything would do to help here. The match fit bits are good quality. Adding track like Incra is always an...

    Best router for £500 fish

I should add though I use a 1400 in table and hand held, the 1100 router is well worth looking at and I think was tweaked recently. I am tempted to add it to the 'collection'. The worst I ever had was a Axminster White used in my Triton tables (2000 / Mk3 / dedicated router), never again. I...

    Best router for £500 fish

I have the Triton TRA001 and the Festool 1400. The 1400 is the every day use due to the reason Mike has suggested. Lovely tool.

    Rutlands Warning!

Expecting my Rutlands delivery today but the thing that winds me up the most is their offers. I would buy far more from them if they changed. Some offer just reduce the price which is fine. I don't have an issue with that but far too many are BOGOF. These aren't for useful consumable or things...

Shame I placed an order with Rutlands this am :( I had an issue with Yandles delivery yesterday, talk about dealing with it brilliantly. Left a great impression and sorted immediately.

Plunge saw - battery or corded?

I bought a TS55 when the only other option was Mafell as well. I got two 1400 rails and never had an issues. More than a decade later it still looks like new (under dust) and works like new in my 'table noways connected to a vacuum. I have also bought the TSC55 which I use with it's built in...
