    dovetail jigs

Depending on how you want to work and if you have, or want to make a router table then the Incra system is very good and entirely flexible. I have an older one setup on my router table and it is good. Probably not as quick as the leigh style ones but it is used as a normal router table fence...

    Spindle tooling advice

Helpful certainly and what they make is great quality. However, the knives are getting considerably more expensive lately, my last order was quite a lot more than I was expecting for a few custom ground profiles.

    Spindle tooling advice

I would not get the combi head but just a normal whitehill limiter head for 55mm knives and/or maybe a cheap "euro" head to get going. Sometimes if you buy a euro head they will come with a choice of various cutters and limiters, these are the cheapest cutters available and for the price of that...

    pre mixed lime mortar ?

It was a methodist church but now a home. They are living in another part of the building and only now sorting out the main church bit. It is in a conservation area, not sure what grade of listing. I am just fixing the windows.

    pre mixed lime mortar ?

A small update for future reference. After contacting a couple of suppliers one suggested nhl 2.5 lime mortar but apparently this will need 56 days under hessian so is really no good as I cannot cover them easily and need to take the scaffolding down as well. The other option suggested was...

What wood drill bit type - 14mm, 24mm and dog holes?

The f type should go up to about 30mm. If you really need lip and spur the Famag might be worth a look.

    Laminating accoya to other woods

In principle it would work, but because the accoya has been treated it does not expand and contract as much as a non treated wood ( which is why its good ). In practice this can cause problems, at the minor end you will see the join as the other wood expaands more, at the extreme end it could...

What wood drill bit type - 14mm, 24mm and dog holes?

A vote for the star m 601 which are fantastic, but for bigger sizes the F type augers are really amazing. I like the way they don`t pull into the cut like normal auger bits do and they don`t break the back of the hole out much either.

    Smoking

For many of us any battery electric vehicle is in the luxury pricetag area. They are a slightly scary prospect second hand as well. I am capable of actually repairing a petrol or diesel vehicle myself using mostly standard tools and easily available parts. If your new EV won`t go it is a trip to...

    pre mixed lime mortar ?

I think its a sandstone of some sort, will take a picture tomorrow, waiting till spring not ideal due to scaffolding etc.

    pre mixed lime mortar ?

Thanks for this, its easier to find once you know the name of it. Just looked at some of the hot lime mortar and it says it takes a year to cure! . This seems a bit insane but I am assuming it will "dry" quicker than that. A bit worrying about the lateness of the year as @Jake has said I am...

    pre mixed lime mortar ?

I am refurbishing some big sash windows in a church at the moment and on some of them fairly large amounts of mortar have fallen out from between the outside of the boxes and the stone. My normal process to tackle this is to expanding foam in the back of the gap and then use a pre mixed cement...

    CNC dust and smoke management

You can support the extractor pipe by a bungie cord on the ceiling, just give it enough slack to move around the full bed area. It supports the weight but lets it move freely. I got some elastic para cord type bungie stuff from my neighbour which is thinner ( 5mm maybe ) and more flexy than the...

    CNC moving Z-axis during cut

If you download fusion 360 (free for hobby but nerfs the feeds and speeds of g code output) or a demo version of Vcarve pro or Aspire ( which will let you do everything except actually export gcode ) . You can play around with genarating gcode and then watching a demo of what it will do when...

    Spindle moulder advice

Keep your eyes on ebay, do you have 3 phase ? because they are normally cheaper. Power feed and sliding table are pretty essential for joinery work...

    Smoking

It is not a question of "not caring" but what am I supposed to do, I need a large van to do my work, my van is diesel as are most large vans, this is because a turbo diesel engine has high torque and fairly decent fuel efficiency. I do not have enough money to buy a new vehicle and even if I...

    Festool Vecturo

This is a slightly different thing to what I was talking about. From what I can tell this is a depth stop, the thing on the festool is more of a vertical plunge guide with rails, more like a domino fence.

    Spindle moulder bed/fence/guides.

Get a power feed is my number one advice. You can just drill and tap the bed to mount it. You can get some really fancy fences and stuff from Aigner and others. Normally there is a hood fixture to cover the head which the fences attach to somehow. It should be fairly easy to make something up...
