Ironmongery Direct 30% off code, valid till 19/09/17.

Maybe the code is only applied to a certain number of accounts. Looking at one of the discount code sites it appears a lot of people are not getting it to work. Nothing to stress about - something I need to buy in the next few months but would have bought it now at 30% off!

£112 including VAT. I am also registered with them and get their emails but not for this discount code.

This isn't working for me. Is it for all products?

securing cut tiles around a velux

I've never heard of Jolloping before but it such a good sounding word I've got to give it a go! Can't wait until my wife asks what I am doing on Saturday! Thanks to all for the advice and best of luck to Myfordman!

    English Workbench Build

Does anybody know what Richard is up to? I haven't seen him update his website or any of his other social media channels for ages. I have been tempted by his videos for ages and these reviews might finally make me hit the spend button!

securing cut tiles around a velux

It is hard to comment because I haven't used other brands. I got mine less than half retail price because I knew someone that worked at the velux factory. I fitted my window entirely from the inside and it really was straight forward to fit. You have to buy the window its self, the flashing kit...

securing cut tiles around a velux

I've just installed a velux window in our house. We had no leeway in the positioning of the window between the rafters as it was a big window. This has left us just over half a tile on the left hand side of the window and the nail hole is over the flashing. The tiles are interlocking and sitting...

    Graduation Jewellery Box - WIP

I've only just spotted this thread and wanted to say thanks for documenting everything. A lot of work goes into producing something with such "simple" lines! Very nicely executed.

    scraper plane in fusion 360

That looks great. I have been thinking of moving from sketch-up to fusion. Any comments on the pros and cons of each?

    Bandsaw safety

I've just watched this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=48NvcoqSbRQ (I would skip the first 1.5 mins) Something similar happened to me about 4 months ago. I was also lucky and just had a bruised finger that got caught under the log as it was twisted into the table. I had never been even...

That'll keep the boss happy then! (hammer)

    Laminated or solid external door

Ah. Good to know. None of my local timber merchants want to supply Accoya to me but I have just discovered that the main distribution centre in Scotland is happy to supply to the public and even offered me a tour of their factory! If I were to build it myself is it better to machine the rails...

    Laminated or solid external door

A lot of the learning and information seems to have moved to Historic Environment Scotland: https://www.historicenvironment.scot/ And I am looking forward to this place opening in Stirling: https://www.engineshed.org/

    Laminated or solid external door

I think that is the bit the boss doesn't quite trust me with  I have almost convinced her that linseed paint is a good option for our exterior woodwork but that has taken a year or so. The thing that swung it in my favour was the renovation of a local listed building she likes and...

So you are recommending that I tell the boss that I should make my own out of unsorted pine? [-o< :D

    Laminated or solid external door

We are wanting buy a new external kitchen door and are going for a full glass (pattern 10?) design as our kitchen is pretty dark. I would prefer a solid wooden frame but the boss is worried about the door swelling and sticking etc. If we go for a engineered door I am worried about it...

    Energy switching: SO Energy

I actually think it is the other way round. We have been in our house 10 years now so pretty much know how much gas and electricity we are going to use and tell the company what we want to pay. It will often be the case that as we come into November we have built up a nice excess over the summer...
