    fine filter cartridge RP CX2600

I seem to recall Steve Maskery finding a place near him that would custom make filters but I cannot find the thread on a quick search.

Arguing with the car insurance company

OK. Dad's not very computer literate but I will create a "portfolio" of listings to help fight his case and get it sent off to the insurer.

Arguing with the car insurance company

Maybe I don't understand how all this works but my dads insurance company will just claim the money back from the other drivers insurance company? So why would they give such a low initial offer?

Arguing with the car insurance company

So my dads car was rear-ended last week. Other driver has admitted fault so no problem there. The big problem is that the car has been written-off by my dads insurers and they only want to offer him £8500 for it. If you go onto Autotrader the same make and model of car with equivalent specs...

    How crass are Highland council

This seems very silly to me. The site has huge historic and cultural significance and it's not like there is a shortage of space in the HIghlands. Just to add that this feels like lazy planners - Inverness is really starting to sprawl outwards and is spoiling the feel of the place.

They look fantastic! I think you will be making a lot of people jealous with such a great space.

Sore Hoarses MkII - Now with added plans!

If I recall Aidan knew the low height was not the best but it did mean that it could be make out of a single sheet of plywood. I only use it for cutting down sheet goods and find the lower height advantageous.

Sore Hoarses MkII - Now with added plans!

Hi. I should have these somewhere as I have made them! They are not on my Google drive so I will have a search on the home computer this evening.

Optimal depth of tool stands for stability

Hi All, Like most I have a small workshop and too many tools. My tablesaw and planer thicknesser are already on wheels and I am currently thinking about my other large tools - bandsaw, lathe, mitresaw and morticer (the mitresaw and morticer are going to go into a fliptop type cart). Given my...

    Non-combustible wall for wood burner

I have had exactly that discussion but the excuse was she "hadn't been able to visualise the space" - nevermind that I had even made a mock up of the stove she wanted at the time (which has also changed) . An impass has been reached but I feel I should at least explore if there are any...

    Non-combustible wall for wood burner

It really is fun that things are just different enough up here to make things interesting! These are the relevant sections from the Scottish Domestic Handbook: The BCO was really helpful last time and approved the walls that I had previously built which is why I am more than a little annoyed...

    Non-combustible wall for wood burner

Scottish building regs state that the non-combustible material be 75 mm thick, so the air gap doesn't count.

    Non-combustible wall for wood burner

Renovations continue.... We planned all the renovations and submitted plans to BC about 2 1/2 years ago. I engineered in non-combustible walls for a corner woodstove and built said walls last year. LOML now wants the site for the stove to be moved about a metre to the right - just to where...

I'll need something to put my tools in...

SO jealous of your space! If I recall correctly it is tricky to accurately flatten a board beyond twice the length of your planer bed (ie a planer with a bed 1 m in length will flatten a 2 m length of board but struggle to accurately flatten a 3 or 4 m length). When I was new to my...

    routing cable for light switch

I know people generally hate answering electrical questions but this is, hopefully, a small first fix question. We are doing up our ground floor a room at a time and I am currently working on the front hall. While we have plasterboard off the wall I was wanting to install some cable for what...
