Thanks for that. for some reason, It didn't occur to me that the wax wouldn't be waterproof. I was thinking maybe that using a buffing wheel, I may have taken too much of the wax off.

Hi all, I made my very first band saw box with my cheapy aldi band saw. It is made of lovely spalted ash. I finished it with Lebron clear wax and buffed it with a cloth wheel. It looked so great, that when my girlfriend had a stall at a craft fair, I tried to sell it. Unfortunately, It rained...

cheap washer dryer ducting for table saw

I think it may collapse, As mentioned above, air is pushed through it not pulled as a vacuum would. It's not that expensive so I would give it a try. I have some in the garage so I'll give it a go. Thanks for the idea!

    Home made saw bench.

I for one applaud you for being a dinosaur. Modern production methods don't like them, that's the way of the world. sad but true

Help! I can't find a drive centre to fit.

Why the 'It's not expensive and a well known name so it must be crap' nonsense? If Clarke were that bad, they would have gone to the wall years ago. It's a STARTER lathe. your Idea of a ' bad habit' maybe someone else's idea of a good way to work. (as long as it's safe obviously). I really must...

Where to get hold of an anvil?

https://www.anvils.co.uk/about-us.html you won't need to fettle them then. And get a turning hammer and you won't mark your work too much. Do you want a gas furnace or coal?
