    Thinking of an arc welder...

Inverters are quieter, But more complicated when they go wrong, and are more expensive initially. Depends what you want one for. Both will stick two bits of ( thick ) metal together. If it's your first one. Include PPE in your budget as well. The hand held masks that come with them, will hinder...

    Woodland charcoal making

I think the last lot I had was mostly Oak, Came from Sheffield, I popped up from the Midlands and visited our Pole lathe turner while I was at it. I got ten 3kg bags, which usually lasts for a season and a half.

    Woodland charcoal making

    1/ 4" trimmer router question

I've got the Katzu one, after a load of people on a couple of facebook pages were raving about them. Mostly positive reviews, the only ones that weren't were from tool snobs. It will do what you want, just shallow cuts and a good quality bit will sort it.

Help requested. OLD Bosch SB 400-2 dismantling/service advice...

I see that now that it is metal, but it has moved (there is a gap at the bottom of the label) looking at it again, It seems to be tight around the bottom of the trigger, so concentrate around that area. It will come free, they were made to go together so they should come apart

Help requested. OLD Bosch SB 400-2 dismantling/service advice...

slice through that label next to the trigger, It's not helping. Then, as has been said, wide blade screwdriver, or old chisel and go steady.

    Workshop apron or coat

It all depends what I'm doing, as I tend to dabble in all sorts. I got a brown coat with buttons when I'm wood working and doing my pewter casting display as a Victorian/Edwardian. Or when welding/grinding, I wear a Finish ex army overall with a chrome leather apron over the top.
