Its a bit more cash to spend but you could invest in an aluminium plate to replace the plastic one. UJK 10mm Aluminium Router Table Insert. I have the folding table and I added the plate and the better fence and it works well.

I have the earlier UJK model. It looks as though this new one has a few tweaks and additions. I’ve been very happy with mine.

Maybe. Of course, the main reason Axminster launched the reamer, as I understand it was to deal with situations where MFT tops swell or the holes get a bit furry! I have a personal preference for the UJK stuff.

I have some Veritas and also Axminster do some good ones at a reasonable price. Mine don't get heavy use so can comment one how they will last.

That is exactly my position. I bought the Makita Biscuit jointer first but then rapidly followed with the DF500. Wouldn't do without either.

I keep mine in a Systainer fitted with a foam drilled base - I think I got the base from Amazon or eBay.
