I used to go to Angelsey about 3 times a year. trouble was, we were normally heading for Abersoch and missed the turning on the A55. :D

    Cold blue (blu) liquid.

you can chemically black stainless steel. not with selinium dioxide though. oh no, SS needs fair worse chemicals than that. A hot bath of sodium hydroxide (caustic soda) and nitrites (secret blend of herbs and spices), at 285 °F (141 °C). sounds lovely.

    Rivets and rivet guns

misunderstanding of galvanic corrosion Matty. Stainless doesn't interact with stainless steel. no increased corrosion risk.

    Virus

that's an easy one Mike, he's tried leapfrog. (Assuming Laphroiag) :D controversial remark Lagavulin is over hyped expensive ditch water with a fantastic marketing campaign. completely off topic, sorry. on a serious note, we have pulled all our people out of China and stopped all but...

    Lazy susan

The nails are quite possibly original, especially with a cut head. give it a gentle wire brush to knock of the worst then leave it alone. a coat or 2 of matt or satin will make it good enough to eat off and hold all that nasty grime in. if that isn't to your flavour take a head on shot of...

    Any underfloor heating experts?

It looks like a PRV on the end of the manifold. the blue liquid is most like copper hydroxide from water sitting in the vent reacting with the copper. sounds like the PRV has lifted in the night, possibly because of air in the system from the leak by the "red tap". you can repressurise the...

Jacob, stop, he hasn't asked how to do it, he's asked for something specific. Leave him to it please. anyways, seems like an almost perfect time to buy a bit of vintage. :) (mmmm pretty) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-Drau ... Swk09eILk9 the 6" with it's extension will get you out to...

    Crunchy Cross Slide Pinion

Hairy fluff, if you've checked the splooge for curly ones and workshop glitter then I think you are right in that you'll just have to live with it. Theres a fair bit of pitting on the teeth, so it could be just that rather than bits of Detritus in the meshing. :)

    Crunchy Cross Slide Pinion

looking at those cogs I'd say the crunch was coming from the meshing of the gears. I didn't notice but did you say you'd clean out the gears? if not can you get the whole assembly apart and clean it. you'll quite possible find a load of lubrication at the bottom of the casing with bits of...

    Central heating timer replacement

Boilers dont come with seperate thermostats. You have to buy one. Doesnt matter who makes the boiler, you pick the thermostat and timer thay meets your requirements. I like honeywell. My plumber friend likes drayton. My BIL thinks his hive is the best (because he's a gadget lover). No reason...

    Cold blue (blu) liquid.

gun blu (trademark) is a chemical oxide layer. it's not great in terms of abrasion resistance (or rusting to be honest). it's also known as black oxide. the term bluing isn't really true, it's really blacking but no one calls it that. search for blackening agent. you should be able to get...

    Best sharpening, sorted.

If he'd rolled the edge he might not have cut his face so much, obviously if hed used (insert chosen sharpening equipment here) he'd have done better. Complete amateur, needs a lesson or two from the masters. Just kidding Peter. Amusing video. Nice bathroom.

    Central heating timer replacement

You could go with a wireless thermostat. Then the control box is where your timer is and the thermostat is where it should be. Obviously just a suggestion and not what you asked. Perhaps take your timer off and have a look at what's there first. Take a picture and we maybe able to help.

Essential Power Tools for starting wood worker

as already said, a router should be your next purchase, you don't need the table saw and a lot of what you see in american youtube with table saws isn't doable in this country or safe eg. dado blades, guarding etc. I'd suggest a decent 1/2" as mentioned above but also a small laminate trimmer...
