I've been in love with Dolly Parton my whole life.

not a massive fan as such but she does have some of the best one liners ever. interviewer: How long does it take to do your hair in the morning? Dolly : Sorry darlin, I have no idea, I'm never there.

    Plasterboard work in window reveal

can you see in to the cavity? there maybe a lintel cavity tray, metal tray from the course above the window. I'd want to fit a cavity closer, mainly to stop anything dropping out and landing on the back of the plaster board. then glue up with board adhesive. you'll need a few lengths of timber...

Cedar strip canoe - moving swiftly on

I think your old man has done a sterling job on that repair and sanded and epoxied it's not going to be noticeable if not completely invisible. cherish it, when he's gone you'll be telling the tale of the day he fell through the floor of your boat. as to the rest of it. meh, it's a bit so...

    Does anyone else dislike routers?

nope. I have zero issues with the router as a tool. I use the katsu most of the time, quick flick and out the body comes from the base, locking button and 1 spanner, bit changed, back in the base and away I go. my big 1/2 is a silverline (yer I know, disgraceful). does what I need, bit loud but...

Has anyone modified extraction ports on tools?

dropping the bore will increase the speed of air passing through it for the same volumetric flow. Right at the machine this can be a bonus rather than a hinderance. i think. I is tired, I hasn't slept since Monday.

    WD 40

The world is coming to the point where we cant trust someone to use something with common sense. So we have to regulate. Be surprised he was in trouble though, as it wont have been his own can (not allowed to transport it on the chopper) so it will have been on the rig and the coshh assessment...

    Smallest compressor for veneer pinner

something with a 10l tank is about as small as I'd go. can't remember what size my mini comp is right now, but it will run a brad nailer quite happily (it's run a considerable bigger gun in the past too).

    Wooden cycle wheels

Yes they used a steam bent rim on ordinary bikes at the start. It was quickly replaced by metal. Can't think why. 😂 Worked on cart wheels as well. But then a horse drawn isnt exactly stressed like a bike wheel. Having ridden on a wooden rim on an ordinary , the feeling a oh beep every time you...

    Wooden cycle wheels

Normally in a press or a vacuum. Sorry, but the wheels are the one place id suggest you go with off the peg. Its very difficult to do and if it goes wrong its your face in the asphalt. A frame is likely to fail with signs of a defect, a wheel will fail amd put you on the ground without.

    BA Spanners

the amount of torque you are applying you could make your own fairly easily from just about any carbon steel with a needle file. just a suggestion. otherwise King Dick is the only place I've seen still making and selling them and prime tools seems to have the 10 in stock at least...
