    Live edge console table

In that case it's essential that it has strong legs!

    Live edge console table

It looks great. Well done. From a design point of view, I agree with the comment above that a lighter undercarriage would improve the look but that sort of thing is very much a question of personal taste.

    Cabinet Scrapers

Are you talking about card scrapers? I think I followed the Paul Sellers video and it seemed to work. The problem I tend to find is that I turn the edge over too much. The scraper still works, but I need to use it at more of a shallow angle (e.g. lean it away from you more more as you scrape...

How to Line Boxes & Drawers

It is very helpful. I took delivery of some very fine mulberry pig suede yesterday so could well be giving this ago in the next few weeks (I need to make a box first...). I'll report back!

Post a photo of the last thing you made

As mentioned in an earlier post, I’m making a second box and said I would take a photo of the breadboard joinery. You can see the oversize mortises and dowel holes for the outer tenons. These allow for wood movement.

Post a photo of the last thing you made

The plinth is there principally to deal with the base of the box. The box has a plywood base (so I don't have to worry about wood movement). I could have put it in a slot or in a rebate in the sides, but it's not very easy to cut those when you have through dovetails (you need to do stopped...

I’ve posted one of these before, but I’ve made another box. This one is a Christmas present for a nephew (I’ve got another in progress).

Cedar strip canoe - moving swiftly on

Crikey! What a shame. Glad nobody was badly hurt.

Paint rubbing off thicknesser bed onto workpiece

I found that lifting the board as it went in and came out of the thicknesser helped a lot. If I did that it wasn't a big issue and not enough that it wouldn't be removed when hand planing to get rid of the machining marks.

Paint rubbing off thicknesser bed onto workpiece

My Clarke did the same thing. It planes/sands off pretty easily so I didn’t find it a big problem. (I’ve got a new p/t now so may get the Clarke up for sale on here soon.)

    Strong colour

So dark grey (with a hint of green to it) was the choice for our bathroom in the end! It's a F&B colour called Down Pipe. A friend did a round called "Pigment or Figment" for a zoom quiz which was good fun!

Can I cut a door in half?

They aren't 100% finished, but I think the doors are going to be fine.

Where to source wood for joinery

The normal advice (which is right of course) is to find a timber merchant where you can go and select the wood yourself. However, I've bought oak and redwood from Timbersource in the past and have been very happy with what they've supplied. I'm still getting a feel for prices, but my sense is...

    Which pneumatic pop rivet gun?

I've got the Clarke (or possibly sealy) one and it has been fine. I haven't used it for a while but it got a lot of use when I built a kit car and it worked very well. If you have a lot of rivets to do then they're a god send.

anyone own a AXMINSTER TRADE AT260SPT?

Nothing is loose on the fence. The issue is that the fence might be square to the tables if the fence is at the back of the planer. but it will be out of square if I move it to the front.

anyone own a AXMINSTER TRADE AT260SPT?

I used mine "in anger" for the first time yesterday and I think it's great. Due to some incompetence on my part I had to flip back between planing and thicknessing a few times, and I think the changeover is easy and quick. My one "gripe" is that I still find the fence isn't square to the...
