DBT85s Workshop - Moved in and now time to fit it out

I know nothing about these things, but if the rough surface bothers you, could you hire a concrete grinder to flatten it off? It's probably no worthwhile if you're covering it all, but I can tell it's annoying you! It all looks very well done to me.

    Small curved sided oak box

It looks very neat indeed. Matt Estlea has been messing around with odd shaped boxes in his garden workshop series on YouTube. His ended up looking great, but I think yours are better!

From some scraps I had left over from other things, I made a box for my "kuub"* set (the bag it came in is a bit weak and starting to fray). I also made the little oak mallet for knocking the pitch markers in. That fits into the space on the right hand side of the box The rope handle for the...

    Art desk - WIP

As an interesting postscript to this project, my wife sent a picture of the desk to her mother (a keen artist herself) and it reminded her of an art desk which her great aunt used to use. Her brother now owns that desk and sent the following photos. There are some similarities in some aspects...

Bathroom cabinet. Hand tools only. (Now finished)

It looks really good. It's interesting to see some different styles of design. I watched a video on The Englishwoodworker YouTube page, where he makes a tool chest/box which is entirely nailed together - lots of clenched nails rather like the doors you made. It's a similar style, with tool...

    Welly Rack

If you aren’t already doing this, I think it helps if you take the corners off the stock first. I planed it down to a rough octagonal cross section.

    Art desk - WIP

Ha! It’s a front hall which normally has very little in it so it seemed a good place for a few photos.

    Art desk - WIP

Here are a few pictures of the finished desk (apart from the brass brackets for the supports to replace the 3D printed versions!). I'm really pleased with how it has turned out.

Here are some photos of the "art desk" I've made.

That looks like a very good result.

    That’s a very neat repair.

    Crossbow finish

TruOil is great stuff for this sort of thing. I've done a couple of rifle stocks with it and they look great several years later having spent hour outside in both baking sun and torrential rain.

    He who dares Rodders..................

It sounds like you have no other choice but to do what you're doing. I really hope it goes well.

    Costs of 3D printing?

Something like this (although I notice there is an unthreaded section which I could add if you give me that dimension too). Aside from the M33 x 3.5 thread, I've made up the dimensions.

    Costs of 3D printing?

Do you have the ability to print it? If you give me the other dimensions (overall length, diameter of the wider section and the size of the screw holes), I reckon I can draw that and email you a .stl file. Nick
