Lack of Woodworking programs on TV

Thanks Norman. Yes I do have a firestick that No. One Son gave me. I ought to upgrade maybe; or learn how to get the most out of it!

Politicians in general. And Music as political comment. :D

In general grammar, spelling and symtsx are more or less ignored when it comes to lyrics of songs. I thought that was accepted practice . It's called artistic licence. E.g. 'You made me love you, I didn't "wanna" do it.' John

Lack of Woodworking programs on TV

Thank you Rob I'm obliged to that. I watch YouTube on my television from the comfort of my recliner. I don't usually sign in for this and if I want to to sign in I watch direct through my PC. Derek. Thanks for your contribution. I like all of the channels you mention and subbed to them all. I...

I didn't know that Norman. Thank you.mind you my TV is a few years old now. As I need vertical blinds throughout, a new telly must wait in the qùeue! John

Lack of Woodworking programs on TV

Unless you can download Youtube videos you can't really organise them like that. I use post it notes and note the name of the channel or the channel owner's name. Easy to find them that way. HTH John

Lack of Woodworking programs on TV

Have a look at 'The English Woodworker.' If you want expert, no nonsense hand woodwork.

    The wonder of the domino

And a Shaker is credited with the invention of the circular saw/table saw.

While Boris continues to ride the swings AND the roundabouts!

    The wonder of the domino

Every so often, I decide to ignore the feud between hand tool users, machine lovers, and 'hybrid' workers. Then I see a purist knocking him/herself out hand-sawing a 6" square chunk of wood, to make 2 inch square legs, just for the sake of it. Okay, if you really do want to knock yourself out...

    Might be a dumb question & I hope it's the right forum....Boxes & Brass

Corner protectors do protect the job; but they can damage surfaces the job rests on! Ooops! 🙄 John

Suitable paint for kitchen cupboard doors.

Thanks Craig. I have a small tin of dove-grey in that make. I'll try some green! For some reason I am not getting warnings from UKW when a post has been answered; hence my delay in replying. Cheers John

Lack of Woodworking programs on TV

Nick. Thank you. Unfortunately my TV is not a true 'smart' TV. All l can do is stream from my broadband connection with a Firestick. To use ad block etc I think I would have to watch on my PC. Not so much comfort in the corner! John

    Another Joke

This one I really like. If I told you the true story you wouldn't believe me. Suffice to say this is a joke, but missing kids hide in all sorts of strange places. Believe me this has happened! Sadly they don't always have an upbeat ending. John

Lack of Woodworking programs on TV

I started woodwork at school in 1950. Hand tools of course and you could count yourself lucky if you happened to be given a metal bodied plane. If anyone could claim boredom watching dovetailing videos it would be me. Not so however. There's plenty of entertainment in cussing at the screen and...

Lack of Woodworking programs on TV

Magazines are of interest of course but there comes a time when reading them is just a trip down memory lane . I don t profess to know everything but I do find much in the content that is just repeat regurgitation!! Incidentally I have some mags ready for someone who asked for them but my memory...

Lack of Woodworking programs on TV

I cancelled my television licence. The BBC tell me they will be in touch in 2 years time, just to make sure. If I want to watch anything, it's YouTube, DVDs and Amazon Prime. The continual advertising upsets me but I'm John pineapppled if I'm going to pay good money just to do away with those...

I like the idea of trusting to Human Nature; problem is Human Nature is in the hands of too many people.

    House downsize, garage upsize!

Welcome to the forum . Sounds like you're all set for an enjoyable time. I use an integral single garage that grew into a workshop. Biggest drawback of course is space. I also wish I had attended to the floor when I first moved in but I didn't. Consequently I have a concrete floor which has a...

    Lathe holidays...........

My Coronet Major lathe is already on holiday. It's in bits at the back of my shop. Must get around to putting it back together. John

    Workshop reorganization

Thanks musicman. I find just the opposite is the case. My garage is integral with the house and with the metal door facing due South it has to be a really cold day before I can't feel any heat in the doors. So I want to stay with metal doors for I am convinced they collect heat and keep my...
