    Toy Plans

Yep, I've bought several plans from them and had several transactions. Very easy to use and buy and the plans are all downloaded once payment is received. As previously confirmed above. The plans are of a very high standard and as they are all A4 sized you can re-print them anytime you want...

    Had a Little practice.

Nice clean cuts and I'm sure you enjoyed cutting them out. Keep up the good work ;-)

    When is a blade blunt???

If its a brand new blade and doesn't seem to be cutting very well it might pay to try a more aggressive blade with less teeth. For instance, if you are using a #5 try a #7. If you've been using the blade for a while it may very well be blunt. It also makes a difference which way up the blade...

    Scroll saw...techniques? Advice.

A lot of great suggestions and comments already. The only tips I could add Dino, is to drill the hole in either the bottom left or bottom right of the inside shape and it should be almost invisible. The angle of the table will dictate how far the inner piece will be recessed. The greater the...

Quality Ply wood suppliers (mail order)

A few of their other 'policy' hyperlinks at the bottom of the page are also just headers. I can't remember whether I've ever read it or not as I knew they had a flat rate shipping rate when I placed my orders. A quick email to support should get it for you though. I've placed several orders...

Quality Ply wood suppliers (mail order)

I've recently been using Hobarts http://hobarts.com/sheet-materials/wood ... 124_15_56/ and they have sent some really nice looking sheets. The delivery is very quick but has a flat charge of £9.90 so make it a decent sized order.

Cutting holes into hardwood for tealights

You could always try a spade bit (available in various sizes) but take it careful. They are not as stable to use as forstner bits.

    Question for you all.

I don't think it matters whether you cut clockwise or anticlockwise - unless you've tilted the table to make recessed cuts. The only criteria used to be that the waste is on the right of the blade. When I first started it was suggested that when the blades are stamped out it leaves the teeth...

    cheap as chips

It would 'appear' to take standard 5" pinned blades. Which should be able to be picked up fairly easily. The saw looks OK for outside cuts but no good for fretwork unless you are cutting out large areas so the pinned blades will fit through the hole. For £47 it ain't gonna be a smooth high...

    New batch of FD blades

Yes, I'd forgotten all about the snapping when I posted earlier. I went through several blades cutting out a small piece of work. I appreciate that the same sized FD blade was narrower than the Olson version but even so. The only time I usually have to change an Olson is when it goes blunt...

    New batch of FD blades

Well, I thought it was just me. I usually buy Olson blades but they are expensive in the UK and shipping from the USA is ridiculous so I ordered a load of FD blades from Mike as everyone seems to hold FD blades in very high regard. Mike was brilliant and charged next to nothing to ship them...

But don't you have the additional noise of an extractor running at the same time as the saw?

1st scroll saw on a budget

Agree 100%. Unless you have failing eyesight or MS I see no reason why you can't start scrolling. It's not an age thing it's an attitude thing. What better way to spend an afternoon than creating attractive gifts for loved ones . . . . unless you're a big fan of Cash in The Attic.
