Good effort cutting out the fish. Practise makes perfect and you'll soon be cutting smooth arcs and turns. Keep up the good work boboxsi. No idea about the OP as all the pictures have disappeared!!

    First Clay Attempt

Very good instructions - as ever. Thanks Pete I might give it a go now you've blazed a trail ;-) Yes I went for the fastcut blade the exact length of the one it was shipped with and the Record recommended spare so it should fit fine. I didn't call Ian as I found the right size on the web site...

    First Clay Attempt

Nice piece of work Pete. That sounds straight forward enough - softening a small amount for about 1/2 hour rubbing by hand then pushing it into the dove cut out. Presumably the 27 minutes at 100C was non-fan oven? 27 minutes seems quite precise. How do you know when it's ready and does the...

    Re: Fretwork Tote Finished

Thanks for the information Pete, much appreciated.I think I'll see if I can get hold of one of those. What length blade did you get and what length would you recommend to get the correct tension? I've never bought a bandsaw blade before. With regards to your re-sawing question above, I'm...

    Re: Fretwork Tote Finished

Excellent article Pete, very informative and the cutting is very precise and is looking really good. I'm particularly interested in the re-sawing. I've got the same Record bandsaw and have only used the blade it came with. I've tried a couple of attempts at re-sawing with awful results but...

    Mike Moorlach sells his business

Just in case you haven't heard, apparently Mike Moorlach (Flying Dutchman Scroll Saw Blades) has sold his business to "The Wooden Teddy Bear" http://www.woodenteddybearonline.com/x/home.php?cat=87 . I've placed several orders for Olson blades from the WTB and have always found them to be first...

New Hegner, Workshop Tidy Up & Extraction

Wonderful set-up Pete. It gets better and better. You must feel good going out there to work even if you don't do anything but count your blades. Nice to see you've also built-in an area for your lass to use when she brings you a coffee  You can sit and share an ice cream !!!
