Anyone suggest a good stool for scrolling?

I don't use a foot switch but I do use an adjustable swivel bar stool. Wonderful to be able to swivel and adjust the height. Barry

    Cedar?

. . . . but it smells divine. We had a load of cedar logs delivered for our open fire a few years ago. They were a bit wet so we used to place a few in the hearth to dry out whilst burning the dryer ones. The steam and aroma coming off the damp ones was brilliant. Just saying ;-)

    First Attempts at something "proper"

Very good first effort. The lines look pretty straight and a quick rub over with some very fine sandpaper will produce an even better result. Well done. Barry

    Sander BTS 250

I have no experience of the brand or AES' experience with same. Having read in other threads that the OP didn't have a great deal to spend on his new hobby I was just looking for a cheaper alternative to his post. From what AES has posted it seems that you should ignore my earlier posting...

    Sander BTS 250

You might want to look at something like this https://www.hagebau.de/p/einhell-stand- ... Id=B310140 It's slightly smaller but much cheaper and should be OK for general use. It's also from Germany and they sell it on-line. Barry

    Newbie

Yikes . . . well it was very early in the morning. I, of course, meant to say pinless blades

    Newbie

Hi Steve and welcome. I'm not familiar with that saw but if it only uses pinned blades your choice of pattern is restricted. The minimum sized hole you will be able to drill will have to be big enough to thread the blade (with pins) through. Solution, 1. See if there is a toothless blade...

Interesting new glue? happy ending in the end

Oh what a shame. It sounded like a great product and thank you for bringing it to our attention . . . and for being the guinea pig ;-) Enthusiasm for anything in such a cynical world is brilliant and I'm just sorry this one didn't quite work out for us all. Thank you for your efforts though...

    Stupid question

I'm surprised B&Q doesn't stock what you want. Planed pine is very common and a thickness of 19 mm (3/4") is widely available and usually comes in a variety of lengths. The width is usually a problem if you are making a big project? You should be able to find widths up to about 200 mm (8")...

    Blade advice wanted

Hello, and welcome. Shipping charges rarely reflect a fair value for money so it might pay to buy in bulk. At least then you should get better value for money. Barry

    Wine Yoke Idea

Really nice looking gifts Gill. I'm not surprised you are getting so many orders. Well done.

Very nice Brian and well up to your usual standard. I don't know about 'quick' I think it would take me most of the winter to produce something like that ;-) Barry

Interesting new glue? happy ending in the end

Hmmm, thanks for that Andy. Have you bought some to try out? It seems to have had mixed reviews on Amazon.de with people saying it didn't seem to cure and that the LED seems underpowered.

plywood beech need ideas how to use it

Wow, that still sounds like a good deal. "Only 8 mm thick" you say. I normally use 1.5 mm or 3 mm for most of the work I do so think that 8 mm is pretty thick, but it depends what you are making I guess. Barry
