    Vacuum bag press

No direct advice to add, except when I was looking at this a while back it did seem that some of the suppliers to the fibre-glassing and composites industry seemed more competitive on pricing. http://www.easycomposites.co.uk/Categor ... plies.aspx http://www.ecfibreglasssupplies.co.uk/c ...

Fantastic advice - the neighbours are going to love my new Motte & Bailey workshop!

    Paul Sellers video

In Furniture & Cabinetmaking issue #63 there's an article in which the output (presumably annual) of LN is reported as 18,000 tools*. With an output of 1500 tools/month or more, seeing mint examples cropping up on Ebay is hardly surprising. As Mignal notes, many people buy their 'dream'...

Post a photo of the last thing you made

Some nice work there Mark, it's especially rewarding to make something for those you love, it doesn't ease the loss but it honours their part in your life.

Your point, other than to stoke a squabble? Aside from irrelevance to the original intent of this thread at least one of the sellers is a US based Ebay business. As a percentage of LN & Veritas tools sold daily via retail channels the numbers that come up for sale second-hand is surprisingly...

    Cotton Wool

An old Monty Python (??) joke that relies 100% on the ear of the beholder, and thus doesn't travel well. Q: What's the difference between a Buffalo and a Bison? A: You can't wash your hands in a Buffalo.

    Handy spray bottle

Phil, thanks for posting, I'd not seen these before How was the price in Morrells? Smart express seem to be selling it with a plastic bottle for £6.48 and propellant refill for £5.40, these guys seem to be selling it with a glass bottle for a couple of quid more.

Jacob, I tend to agree, but the whole thread has careered off-topic; for my money there's nothing wrong with either approach but sticking solely to one side is a classic false dilemma

I was dubious until I tried one of the Veritas planing stops, after a year or so of using one I wouldn't change back.

To provoke some further erudite discussion* get yourself a pair of pop-up Prairie dogs to complement your planing stop. Video of the prairie dogs in action. I've previously made some 3/4" dowels with a tiny rare earth magnet set into the tops and bottoms (just so I didn't have to worry...

    surgical tubing

Have you tried these http://www.axminster.co.uk/nobex-framing-cord-clamp I find them very good, if a little fiddly to set up in the first place - they're expensive for what they are but I bought mine for pennies a few years ago. There's really very little to them, should be possible to knock up...

    surgical tubing

We used to use surgical tubing for bungeeing spare demand valves to the side of dive cylinders and myriad other uses - it does always seem to be expensive (unless you know somebody in the medical profession) - we used to refer to it as latex tubing (some freaky things turn up on Ebay when you...

    Want to set-up Workshop

Hi John, and welcome aboard! There are plenty of people on here that can give you sound advice on your requirements, most of them will come back with a question along the lines of "what are you planning to make?" because this obviously sets the requirements for the capabilities of any...

    worth shopping around for plywood

Do they all treat the ply as a grained material in their calculations?

Can anyone knock me one of these up by the weekend ?

Disgusting! I'm suckered in with some story about a very tastefully done 'artistic' movie about a beautifully appointed Secretary from Berlin with some fancy drawers - and then you show me that, you should be ashamed of yourselves.

La-Co Rust Buster - treat yourself!

Why do I only remember to use this stuff *after* I've skinned my knuckles? I just spent 30 minutes cursing at a seized gun/hose connection on my pressure washer*, I'd experimented with larger and larger wrenches, grips, extension bars... and was just having a cup of tea to take my mind off my...
