Ikea kitchens - any good? And fitting your own kitchen tips?

We're about to make the 2 hour drive up to Ikea to order a new kitchen which I'm going to attempt to fit. We've spent hours with the frustrating online kitchen planner tool - so perhaps I'm asking for advice too late. But has anyone bought and installed an Ikea kitchen - are they ok? I'm a...

    TS2010 table saw problems

Tyrone Unfortunately the TS2010 isn't German-made. They reduced the price of the (I believe German-made) TS2000 - the main difference being the production was moved to China or Taiwan. I have the TS2000 and if it makes you feel any better that's not perfect either (and I paid a lot more than...

Granadier electric firelighter / starter - how easy to make?

To be honest my BBQ lights pretty easily - 3 no odour lighter cubes below a pyramid of coals. I light the cubes with a long wind-proof butane lighter and leave it alone for up to an hour. No blowing or such like. Come back and all the coals have a coating of grey ash. But the sitting room coal...

Granadier electric firelighter / starter - how easy to make?

Just bought the latest Jamie Oliver book for my wife, and in it in the section of BBQs he mentions the Grenadier Electric Firelighter: It looks quite nifty and I like a gadget. I'm sure it's worth the price - good idea and made in England and all that but I don't think I could afford its £120...

    SATNAV

Yes they do really work. I have TomTom on my PDA come phone and it works very well around here. BUT I took it to Southern Spain - Andalucia and it was rubbish! Really really bad. It's strange because you really get used to it - we didn't even take a map (silly us). We got lost a few times. But...

    Playhouse - WIP - FINISHED!

Thanks Paul - will take a look. Chris - that sounds a great idea. Is it difficult to do? Eyal - that's fantastic! What did you use to clad it - I like it. And I'm getting more interested in those shingles! Looks way better than what I was planning. Lovely work on your website too. Where you from...

    Playhouse - WIP - FINISHED!

Thanks guys will try and keep the pics coming. Tony - think I got the clamp from Axminster (few quid) - hold on ... here it is. Found it wasn't quite accurate enough for what I'd bought it for but perfect for knocking together these frames quickly. Thanks Paul - that stuff sounds good - I'll...

    Estate Car Advice

Well my last car before my current one was a Peugeot 306 HDi estate - bought 3 yrs old with 80,000 on the clock. All the advice given to me was go for it - that engine has barely been run in yet (ok I'm exaggerating ;)). As Paul says it's not the engines it's the other bits! I wouldn't buy any...

Big Triton (TRA001) Router - Which router table should I use

Wizer - I'm not sure the XX discussion is that off topic. The OP asked for recommendations on router table tops. I described to him what I have done which involves an XX and works extremely well. The fact that some users have had problems with the XX with their routers is also useful and...

Big Triton (TRA001) Router - Which router table should I use

So it seems it doesn't work too well in Triton routers - since Tony and Argee have both had problems? Maybe there's a little to much runout on those routers to handle any sort of extension? Cheers Gidon

    mirror back

Yes I've used the Pushmaster only with hardwoods. You need to use a dead blow hammer with it - it's just a neat way of holding the nail (or flexi-pin for picture frames). Charnwood used to do an air tab gun too I think but can't find it now. Cheers Gidon
