Scheppach HMS260 planer thicknesser - table seized!??

I'll reply to myself in case anyone else has a similiar issue ... As before I received great support from NMA (this time Tony - thank you). There are no shortcuts, just lots of WD40, lots of scrubbing with a small wirebrush and it helps if you take the handle off and use a spanner on the...

Scheppach HMS260 planer thicknesser - table seized!??

Hello all I've not been here for a while which would also explain why the table on my planer thicknesser has seized (not had much time for woodworking recently). I don't think it's the chain mech - it appears to be the bolts supporting the table itself. I've squirted WD40 all over them and left...

    Make a bike workstand?

Thanks Dave! It does get very encouraging reviews - but that's why I've bought from Amazon - their returns procedure is faultless! Cheers Gidon

    Make a bike workstand?

Jason - thanks but need something freestanding. Bugbear - yes I came to a similiar conclusion. I've gone budget which I may well regret (normally do) and ordered this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Raleigh-Folding ... 345&sr=8-3 It is branded under many names - x-tools, bike hand, bike tool but...

    Make a bike workstand?

Thanks Dave but please don't go to any trouble. I think the stand bit it quite do-able but the clamping mechanism and some degree of swivel is going to be tricky. Cheers Gidon

It would depend on how easy it was - time (and skill) are limited! Cheers Gidon

    Make a bike workstand?

Hi Dave It would ideally be collapsible (limited space) but would probably have to settle for not if making myself. Here you are: http://www.parktool.com/product/home-me ... r-stand-10 Cheers Gidon

    Make a bike workstand?

Has anyone made one before? I'm after one but they are quite pricey. Have see one on the web - can't find the link now - but the clamping mechanism is very basic. I think that's the trickiest bit. I'm doing a fair bit of cycling and would quite like stand for easier cleaning and basic...

Bike seat post stuck - help!

Thanks Pete just saw this. I'm 5'10" with inside leg 30". The offer at the Specialized store in Plymouth was too good to pass on - got the entry level Rockhopper for £515 (2010 model) - very very chuffed! Went for the 17" model - didn't have enough clearance over the cross bar with the 19" and...

Bike seat post stuck - help!

Thanks all - I've not gone for the Specialized (yet) - looking at Ebay although they all seem to have 19" frames and think I'm more 17/18" ... Cheers Gidon

Bike seat post stuck - help!

Many thanks for all the responses. I think it's too far gone now - not sure I'd trust it any more anyway the abuse I've now given it - and used it for carting the children around so do want something I trust! I had spent a good few hours on this before I asked for help here so I think it's time...

Bike seat post stuck - help!

Thank you all for your help! I have taken it to bike shop and they told me there was nothing they could do! Believe me I was happy to pay someone to do this. Anyhow I've tried Jason's suggestion and am knackered. Still no luck. Then resorted to jig saw which worked ok as well but still no...

Bike seat post stuck - help!

Hi all Has anyone got any ideas how to remove a seat post from a bike? I've tried everything: the frame in a large vice, lots of WD40 etc etc. Now I've cut the tube off and cut a slot in the top of the tube but still no luck. I took it to a local bike shop some time bike and he couldn't do it...

    Domino

I too find the fit very tight - a real pain for dry fits. I have to hammer them in and use a mole wrench levered over a block of wood to remove. I did go to the trouble of modifying some for dry fits but promptly have lost most of them! And was quite time consuming to do. I'm using fresh...

Festool - SA-LR 32 Side Stop - what is it - got it free?

Dunno why they sent me that - can only guess they don't know what it's for either! Paul - so two of them might still be useful with the TS55 I suppose for repetitive thin cuts? Still one really seems a waste of time. Cheers Gidon
