Festool CXS compared to 14.4V Dewalt NiMH

This was only a comparison to the 14.4v - so all else equal, there is no comparison! Not Spax screws - Screwfix's own 8 gauge if I recall - but as I said only a comparison. I wasn't trying to criticise the CXS - there's no doubt looking at the reviews that it's a great drill for its purpose. My...

Festool CXS compared to 14.4V Dewalt NiMH

Very quick first impressions - I've not used it for a project just had a play: The good: *Lovely design and weight and usual build quality *Battery life great, charging incredibly quick *Accessories (right angle and Jacobs chuck) snap on very nicely and should be handy - can leave pilot bit in...

Festool CXS compared to 14.4V Dewalt NiMH

Thanks chaps. I've gone for the CXS and will get some replacement batteries for my Dewalt stuff - I have a very handy Dewalt cordless circular saw that also takes the same battery. I'm still curious to see how it compares to my Dewalt 14.4V drills but will just have to see. It is a shame...

Festool CXS compared to 14.4V Dewalt NiMH

Been a long time since posting on here - I still see some familiar faces around! I have two 14.4V Dewalt Drills which are used for everything from finer woodwork to shed building (!) to DIY. I find they have enough power for what I need generally. I have corded SDS drills for heavier duty (DIY)...

A finished project - 1st in 3 years! Baby walker mkII.

Well it's nothing much but am so pleased to get a project finished that I thought I'd post it here! I know it's useless without WIP pictures but has been a rush for my nephew's 1st bday. Although similiar to one I made for one of mine a while back... American cherry and first ever machine cut...

Anyone have use for 4 litres of opened Titebond III glue?

It seems fine but I don't trust it and have no scientific way of testing - so offer still sounds otherwise going in bin! Thanks, Gidon

Anyone have use for 4 litres of opened Titebond III glue?

Opened almost 3 years ago - I can't trust it but before I bin it unsure if it's of use to anyone? Would have to collect from West Devon. Cheers Gidon

    Glue Gun Recommendation

I know a little late but I've got a Tec bond gun from I think Glue Guns Direct - I'm interested to know what the problem is with them? They sell a good range of Tecbond glue which really does work pretty well. Cheers Gidon

Hanger bolt? Mounting 1/4" threaded Sonos bookshelf speaker

I'm looking for a cheaper way to mount the Sonos Play:3 speakers we sell which come with a 1/4 threaded mount hole. We can sell an special mount but it's expensive and I've seen in the US "hanger bolts" with a 1/4" bolt on one end and a screw thread on the other. But can't find them in the UK...

Remove lower wheel BS350 bandsaw / change belt?

Just for completeness - I ordered a new belt from Industrial Component Supplies in Plymouth (great service - 01752 425345) for £4.50 and it's all sorted - Record quoted over £20! Thanks for the help. It's a poly-v belt with 4 ribs, 2.34mm between peaks and 24" long if it helps anyone. Cheers Gidon

Remove lower wheel BS350 bandsaw / change belt?

It's off! It's a simple as removing the circlip - no need to remove pully assembly bolted on behind. But I guess 7 years of use meant it was very difficult to actually get off. What did it was actually knocking it firmly on (use a large open head spanner around the spindle - and hit spanner...

Remove lower wheel BS350 bandsaw / change belt?

Weird - above post missing thanking eveyone for helpful and speedy suggestions! Ok woodaxed thanks - very reassuring to hear someone confirm what I think is the right way - but it's still not coming off. It's probably just stuck. Will have to give Record a ring when I get a chance. Cheers Gidon

Remove lower wheel BS350 bandsaw / change belt?

Many thanks Woodaxed. I found those instructions previously but I'm sure I'm being thick - they're not helping me remove the wheel? Gidon

Remove lower wheel BS350 bandsaw / change belt?

Thanks Blister. Wish it was that easy! I think I'd need a bearing puller - I've given a fair wiggle and it's not budging. Cheers Gidon

Remove lower wheel BS350 bandsaw / change belt?

I managed to get to the workshop for the first time in ages and my bandsaw is playing up. The belt is slipping off the wheels. I have tried adjusting what I can but the belt must be worn. It either slips off or twists. It's a v belt. Any ideas how to change belt - the manual doesn't explain...

Scheppach HMS260 planer thicknesser - table seized!??

Hi Steve Yes not been doing as much woodwork as I'd like - my new(ish) business seems to have taken over my life! But when I did get some time weekend before last I was met with the P/T seized up from lack of use! Still all sorted and need to get on with next project. I hope all is well with...
