Mortice & tenon glue line thickness

In that case, use an 8 x 5 sheet and cut it from 1 sheet. The amount of time you will spend making the pieces, then sanding to make good a joint that will not be invisible you may as well just pay up. The cost of a sheet of MDF will be much less than the cost of your time.

    Horizon and losing weight

Jacob is right, you can dress it up anyway you like but dieting for weight loss revolves around one factor - reducing net calorie intake.

    Anybody worked with Accoya?

That reminds me, I've had a sample of the tricoya (treated MDF) sat in a pot of water for the last 2 months. I'll have to check it out today to see what happened to it. Expensive at £80 a sheet though, but if the application is right it could work.

Mortice & tenon glue line thickness

If i understand you correctly, what you are trying to achieve will be quite weak, M&T in mdf is never a good idea - the core is softer than the faces. If it's just alignment you need then a biscuit jointer is probably the answer for speed and accuracy, or a domino will add more strength. A...

1" honeycomb material for thick table tops?

For the effort involved, at those thicknesses you are probably better looking at lightweight MDF or something like Egger eurolight. I was at W12 at the weekend and Finsa had a couple of lightweight products too that looked good. I looked at the honeycomb material for a recent job and thought...

    My reaons for leaving UKW

 You don't know what was said or done, the trail has been wiped - yet you think I should leave? lol. Well done Shurlock. An objection was raised regarding the past conduct of Blister, the Mod team felt it was necessary to change the decision. It's done. Move on. I feel no shame or...

    Bad news, advice sought.

It's really very simple, and I'm not the first to say it. It's people that will make you a success, not planning. Planning is necessary, and you need to have a handle on your costs and outgoings but - if you are out of work and your option is £65 a week (i think this figure has been mentioned...

    Bad news, advice sought.

My advice, take the "£15" if you can get it, take "£10" if you have to and whilst you are doing that work out how you are going to get the "£40". Keep active and get networking. Tell anyone that will listen what you can do, get on facebook etc and show pictures of your work, whatever it is...
