    WHALE

How about Baltimore, the original one that is, in County Cork. We had a great trip out of there last summer. There is no guarantee of seeing whales, but you often see dolphins and sometimes basking sharks. Also, the whole area is absolutely great for slow pace of life (and Murphys of course!) Phil

    stag antler

Hi, I use small sections to make Cuff-Links which go too quickly! The centre is porous and needs to be sealed with super glue before gluing the metal link parts on. Kip Christensen though makes some fabulous items with Elk and similar antler. Just Google to look in wonder!

Politically incorrect (well politically correct!) joke:

The thing that really gets to me is the use of the word ‘Chair’ instead of Chairman/woman. A chair is an inanimate object and whilst I have been in meetings where the chairman was as much use as a chair…. Also Actor to describe either a male or female etc. Phil

    Gravy for chicken ?

I don't know what it is, but I do exactly what my wife does when she makes gravey but mine is NEVER as good as hers. Magic touch. Agree with Nippy that it is good to put some veg in the base of the pan and sit the meat on top of it. Finally, PLEASE no wee-wee gravy or 'Jus'! What you need is...

    Chuck for Major

Hi Jaypee. I have a blue Coronet and the easiest chucks are the Record ones since Record took over Coronet and have, as far as I know, kept the same thread. They often have deals either at shows or when they round the country to various suppliers. BE WARNED, once you have one chuck, you will...

Hi All Apart from the dreaded wood fever, I also collect stamps in an on-off way. I am sent news letters from some sellers that I regularly use and I thought that you might like to read of the experience of one of these sellers with 'Paypal' and the US government. This week I would tell you...

Coping with damp in a rented flat?

John Quite agree with others over issues with mould. However, it is not answer to paint over damp in the locations shown in your photos. Without any details on construction, roof, etc it is difficult to diagnose, but here are a few possibilities. Chimney Breast Damp – Could be poor, damaged...

    How it all began

In ancient Israel, it came to pass that a trader by the name of Abraham Com did take unto himself a young wife by the name of Dorothy. And Dot Com was a comely woman, broad of shoulder and long of leg… Indeed, she was often called Amazon Dot Com. And she said unto Abraham, her husband, "Why...

    What to do in London

If you are into it, the 'Bronze' exhibition at the Royal Academy on Piccadilly is amazing. Not only are the exhibits ranged by type, eg 'Animals' 'Gods' etc, but the age of some is amazing, one item dates from 4500BC. It should not be too crowded now as it finishes on 9th Dec Phil
