    Home made tomato soup

Rorschach Sorry to disagree about Ham & Pea, but I like it better with dried yellow peas soaked overnight and then the water from that incorporated into the ham stock (in which the ham was boiled with a couple of Bay leaves) Also Curried Parsnip one of my favorites Phil

Hi All If only it were only Ash and Elm. But there are issues with Horse Chestnut and Oak as well. I agree about stricter checks on imports. And the question must be asked as to why we have been importing Ash saplings from Holland etc when Ash grows so prolifically almost everywhere!! Phil

    Domestic Vacuum Cleaners

Dear All Thanks for all the advice. Went into PC World last night to see how the Dyson and Shark were in the flesh and in the hand. The shark was lighter and seemed much more manoeuvrable so I think we will be going with that one. Will let you know how good it is after a few days of use! Phil

    Domestic Vacuum Cleaners

I'm sure people have very firm view on these, so can I have any recommendations for a new vacuum cleaner bearing in mind we have a dog, both carpets and ard floors and stairs! I'm not that keen on Henry types favouring an upright. Cost clearly comes into it and, unless told otherwise, I'm...

Hi If you or partner are a Poldark fan, try Chavenage House near Tetbury. Used as 'Elizabeth's' House and in any case a really interesting and quirky place. One bedroom has the original tapestries made for it in 1540ish AND it was slept in by Oliver Cromwell!! Don't try Highgrove VERY...

    Too hot ?

Hi Don't know if anyone else picked up on this. In fact I'm really surprised that Trump hasn't been on about it. What, you ask? Well, according to the BBC on Thursday Paris had it's highest temperature ever BUT, the previous record was in the late 1940's!! Global Warming? Well I believe...
