    Plane Blade Camber

It sounds like you are "dubbing" the edges of your water stone as you attempt to keep it flat, creating a convex surface. How flat is your flattening stone?

    Triton Routers at B&Q

Harry, I don't know if the Triton saw is better than the Hitachi (Hitachi have a pretty good reputation) but it is very good. The Triton is also considerably easier to set up...there are alignment cams in the saw holder that project through strategically placed holes in the saw's baseplate...

Novice asks advice on cutting oak

You could cut most of the waste with a table saw, if you have one available, stopping short of the line and then finish up with a hand saw. You could also rough it out with a jigsaw and clean up the cut edges with a router. Edit: I must learn to type faster.

    Lacquer over painted finish?

I have used Ronseal Diamond Hard acrylic floor varnish (water based) over water based satin finish paint for my kitchen units. It works very well and seems to be pretty tough. I don't know if it would be compatible with oil based finishes though (probably not).

    FESTO ROTEX 125 ?

Step 1, send me the offending sander. Step 2, try looking on Ebay?

    Jet parallel clamps ?

    Bessey K60 (24") € 52,90 = £37.99 (D&M Tools charge £26.50) Bessey K100 (40") € 66,50 = £47.76 (D&M Tools charge £31.950) Hardly rip-off Britain, you'd think. Then I had a quick look at Amazon.com (US) Bessey K3.524 (24") $35.29 = £17.07 Bessey K3.540 (40") € $35.31 = £17.08 The code numbers...

    Shed doors...

I have to replace the side door of my garage and I am thinking about making a framed, ledged and braced battened door.

    Jet parallel clamps ?

I got a set of the defective Rutlands parallel jaw clamps and, apart from the obvious defect that the clamp head would not grip the bar, the quality was nothing like that of K bodies. The milled edges of the bar were poorly cut or missing in places and only on two edges rather than six on the K...

    Rutland Cramps on offer again.

D&M have the best prices that I have found (apart from the Axminster 1/2 price deal some months ago), though I'd be delighted to find a cheaper source.

    Woodwork as physiotherapy?

Most of the tasks I can think of involve gripping rather than flexing the fingers. How about getting a bagpipe chanter?

    Rutland Cramps on offer again.

I got four 600 mm clamps in the last offer. They were useless so I sent them back. I later received a set of metal plates to repair said clamps, even though I'd sent them back, I guess they don't talk to the people in the returns dept. Having seen the items first hand, my opinion is that they...

    BLACK FRIDAY DEALS

There is also the issue of different operating voltage and frequency (120V, 60Hz US Vs 230V, 50Hz UK) for power tools to take into account if you don't have a site transformer.

Aargh! Should I Grind or Should I Post?

If it's brand new I would send it back for a replacement. I know the feeling of being desperate to put the tool to work, but for me it would always bug me that it was dinged. It's a different story when you've had it a little while and ding it yourself...that's what happens to working tools...

Help extracting a cooker hood outside?

Yes, they probably have a core drill that size. I used a rectangular ducting kit. To make the hole through the wall I just marked the wall and, as said above, drilled a ring of holes through both skins of brickwork. After that I switched the SDS drill to hammer action and chiseled out the rest...

Help extracting a cooker hood outside?

I recently fitted a chimney-style cooker hood in my kitchen. I bought one by Neff, but I think they are all pretty much alike. The hood came with an adaptor to suit different sizes of ducting ie 125 mm round to 120 mm round that fits directly above the motor housing, if you need it. Like dust...

    Positive Triton Tools Experience

Thanks Simon, my home computer has been down for a while so I missed that thread. Well done John of Tritontools for putting your side of things. I will certainly continue to support Tritontools in the future.

    Positive Triton Tools Experience

I've also had very satisfactory service from Tritontools. Mostly in getting small spare parts. The rest of your comment has passed way over my head.

    air compressor oil

I was in my local Halfords last night and they had both air tool and compressor oil at about £5/litre IIRC.

sip 10" cast iron table saw question

I'm pretty sure that the electrical specifications are the same for the UK and Belgium ie. 230 Volts @ 50 Hz. and, if sold in the UK it should have a 'CE' standard mark. Delivery cost might be quite high if shipped from UK to Belgium.
