    Excellent woodwork course in Cheshire

there you go. legs are american walnut, the rest is ash. all hand cut tenons and mortice's (as you can see not always cut perfect!), wedged tenons and planed finish around the edges to make it a bit more interested. not the best picture but all tenons are smooth to the touch and in the porch...

Good quality well priced power tools but cheap!

i have some bits from Lidl, the circular saw (came with 2 blades as well, one for ripping and one for better finish) and a SDS drill. the CS has performed really well in all tasks from kitchen worktops to cross cutting sheet material and bringing a large shed to trailer sized chunks. the SDS...

    Big Orange Warehouse

same here. we used their designer, nice bloke, friendly, looked good in the plans/etc. then realised that there was no consideration for the stop tap and some other measurement issue so the sink would be in the middle of the window, essentially losing a good chunk of workspace. so a quick...

    Big Orange Warehouse

worth a mention, if it is in B&Q then compare with screwfix before you buy if possible same owner company and sometimes the screwfix price is a LOT less than B&Q, and they are usually spread out as well. Obviously not for wood but for screws and suchlike, hardware and that sort of item. I...

no idea but when i redirected with the post office the amount of ***** through the letterbox that was VERY targeted rose as did spam phone calls. so imagine a barrage of sofa/carpet companies, places selling kitchens and bathrooms/etc.

woodworking bench vice but benchtop mount?

thanks all. Looking at my options, i do have one 10" draw that i use for tools and suchlike which is easily removable. So thinking making it so when i am needing the vice i can remove the draw, attach the vice to the worktop (probably hefty bolts and suchlike) and use it. then when i am no...

    Tortoise table

Tortoises can climb very well, a solution is to put a small lip on the side as they cant get the front legs easily over it, they like corners. also the house, far too close to the edge if they manage to climb up over the lip. but nice job :)

Ebay Scam or not ???? Advice

As said above, ebay isnt worth the bother. Sky high seller fees, disputes that favour the buyer... i would try other places like here, gumtree and the like. Ebay is good for some things but for the larger collection only it is advertising to the world where in reality a 50 mile radius is all...

    Trend diamond stones

mine arrived today. seems reasonable for £5, double sided and a plastic base which seems steady enough. cant see anything obvious wrong with it, smooth side seems ok and the other side seems to be ok as well, no obvious flaws. also it appears to be £20 at dm tools and that is down form £30...
