What would you do with a wood?!

First things first, find a nice spot to string up your hammock and tarp, maybe an old parachute canopy as cover, and a camp fire under, relax and enjoy :) Cheers, Paul

Excessive dust release from table saw

I used the same extractor on my sip table saw (before I sold it) and it worked pretty well, not much escaped at all, so I suspect it may well be the design of your saw and inadequate shrouding or design that is the problem. Cheers, Paul

How to dry and cut some horse chestnut logs?

You could make a starting cut for the wedges with the bow saw, shouldn't need much, say a quarter inch or so on the end, but if the wedges are hard enough then may not need that. The resulting split pieces will of course follow the grain in the log, so straight grained knot free logs best...

How to dry and cut some horse chestnut logs?

You could split it with a couple or three large hardwood wedges and a lump/sledge hammer if you can make the wedges, as the grain looks pretty straight and knot free, or do as you say with the bow saw but that sounds like more hard work :) Cheers, Paul

    supernova2 adaptors

In my defence, it was cold and dark, and muddy, out there and too late for an excursion to the workshop to check  Cheers, Paul

    supernova2 adaptors

The Axminster adapter looks really clunky, can't believe it adds about 2" overhang or did I read that wrong ? The adapter I added to my vicmarc chuck to convert to M33 x 3.5 barely adds a half inch overhang from memory and without going out to the workshop to check ! Cheers, Paul

    Bandsaw advice for resaw.

I think for the stated use of resawing softwoods 100mm thick and 450mm long you are probably over-specifying the machine needed. Any decent mid-range bandsaw with a decent blade would be able to do that easily enough and quickly enough. As it's softwood then resin build up may be an issue and...

    Axminster TS200 - First impressions

For those examples I tend to use the bandsaw or gang them up and use a router. I had a good tablesaw until recently but never used it for those applications, although it could have been of course. Cheers, Paul

    UPGRADE

My old CL3 didn't have a locating pin originally, but I lined up the headstock and tailstock accurately and then drilled the headstock join with it's baseplate, ground and snapped the drill bit off to a suitable length, turned a wooden knob for the end, and used that as a locating pin. Worked...
