Dust extractor comparison - is the Festool worth the money?

Thanks Waka. Can any CT22 or Ct33 owners confirm? I can't see where it goes and they don't show them in the catalogue -which I would have thought they would as a key benefit. Also re noise levels, Festool dont state dB levels but Festool UK have confirmed its 72. This makes it the same as...

Dust extractor comparison - is the Festool worth the money?

Sorry to resurrect this thread. Is the CTmini the only extractor that has a hose coiling option (that works)? I need a new extractor - but I have had enough of hoses that get in the way esp when on site. Does the CT22 have a neat way of storing the hose when not in use?. Not wedded to...

    Woodrat Plungebar

Stewart, Looks like a different design, but also looks like its the wrong way up. You should have two horizontal bars that you can squeeze together (vertically) to make it plunge. Try this link: http://www.woodrat.com/plungebar.html Cheers Tim

    Solid hardwood board ?

Aphexx, In the Eden's catalogue www.edens.co.uk (for example), there are a bunch of stave made block boards, but they are all kitchen worksurface dimensions ie not 8x4. I imagine you can get it but it may well be a special. Plus min thickness is 26mm. Cheers Tim

    Groove Router Bit... What size?

Be wary though because so many panels are bigger than stated - ie you may order 6mm but they might send 6.25 instead. I have 3 two flute straight cutters from Wealden at 6, 6.4 and 7mm. I find that on larger panels especially in birch ply, 6.4mm doesn't give enough wiggle room and its a real...

The nearest train station to us (thats on an Intercity line) is Newport. Newport to Paddington return costs around about £140 standard, unless you dont mind arriving after midday. The service is regularly cancelled and is often delayed. It is a 40 minute journey to the station from our house...

    Kreg Right angle clamps

Been meaning to put this up for a bit, but prompted by the fact that some of you may be going to Ally Pally and Brimarc will be there, then it makes sense to review these. No association btw! http://www.brimarc.com/home.php3?page=products&pc=C_132_15_1 I use pocket screws and biscuits as...

Advice please - Adjusting Elektra Beckum planer/thicknesser

There will always be a long running debate about 'badging' and inferiority etc. You are unlikely to get anyone to say what the differences are and it is possible that these products are made in the same factories - but it is most likely that while the designs maybe similar or even identical...

    Car/ truck advice

I don't want to use the passenger area for storage of big, dirty toolboxes, timber etc. That is what has knackered the inside of my Freelander. Plus a pickup is a commercial vehicle for tax purposes. Roger - your logic is impeccable and outlines exactly my dilemma. However, the Freelander...
