Yes - for the cabinets and mantel - not the room  Cheers Tim

It was BB from Edens. You should ask your supplier what grade theirs is - AFAIK 'premium' doesn't exist. Cheers Tim

Thanks for the comments guys. I thought 'snug' was a commonly used word for small, family/ TV room. I admit that the train set caught my eye too but the client was talkingto me while I was taking pics so I couldn't have a go. Cables were run before the work was installed and then wired on...

    Bookcases, TV cabinet and fireplaces

This was a job I finished before Christmas but the rooms weren't decorated until Jan. Its two adjoining rooms, a family room/ snug and a formal drawing room I've added a few of before pics as well. Drawing room is still awaiting tidying post Christmas and so not exactly dressed! Materials...

Are you using sprung hinges? If not then there will be no force to push against the stop. If you are using sprung hinges it may be that they have been adjusted so that the spring has been reduced ie if the hinge has been adjusted to its maximum left position if its left mounted. HTH Cheers Tim

    Jigsaw setting chipboard alight ...

Two things: 1. Yes chipboard can contain bits of metal and other unpleasantt things. 2. Check that you haven't bent the blade or been pushing it too hard. Cheers Tim

Those are published prices on the website. NB it is stock that they are running down though. Minimum order value is £50 and free over £100. I've not seen a rep but then I haven't asked to. If I thought i was going to be ordering loads of the same stuff then I might try to negotiate a better...

    MDF Type

As far as I'm aware, its a brand related difference. The brown with green interior is Medite MRMDF on thicknesses over 15mm. I agree its not as dense as all green (caberwood?) but its still definitely moisture resistant and still much more dense than standard MDF Cheers Tim

A Poll for a Seperate Jig Section on the Forum PLEASE VOTE!

I think it could prove very valuable esp since the search function isn't great (even using google depends on getting exact terms right). Cheers Tim

Although I worked in marketing in the drinks business, we all had to do a stint on the road and I came across exactly the same. No matter if you showed the publican that they could buy Kronenbourg cheaper than Stella, sell more of it and charge it at a slight premium, their response was nearly...

I could see that that process would be reasonable when dealing with large customers or locking customers into one or two product lines (it is how the pub industry is run) but I struggle to see how this can be worthwhile for the sole cabinetmaker or small workshop. While I do use several items...

    Workshop reorganised

Looks good. Re the planer wheel stand, I had mine (same model) on one of those htc stands for exactly that reason but actually found that while it dramatically increased its manoeuvrability, it also meant that it was prone to sliding when large stock was being planed. In the end I ordered...

    Peasants...not for Philly!

Faisin a la Normande - marvellous. Not a meal to suggest a walk after though - more a good doze in front of the fire. Cheers Tim
