    Routing fluted panels

Its the strapping to the pallet that worries me   I have seen one of these before which had a multiplier (speed increaser X4) on it which allowed its use as an overhead router as well, not an easy machine to clean though if used for the latter. good solid looking machine sorry...

Looking for Pictures of a Norris plane

Just wondering if anyone here went to the Tony Murland auction not so long ago and took a picture of the Norris plane that fetched the £16000 price tag. I caught a glimpse of it on the news but would have liked to have seen a decent picture of it. I

David, first is a nice Norris 2, lower one i'm not so sure. reading Scrits reply i would probobly agree on a homebrew. The overstuffing looks to be well done and the rear handle looks custom. what scrit says about a patternmaker is possible but i would go for a cabinetmaker who new...

Tormek vs Veritas MkII Power Sharpening System

Paul, 6 months off the ****…..4 fights…nearly divorced….arrested twice…..road rage like I’ve never had before….and I’ve fallen out with everyone that’s close to me, Engerland has it all coming when the ban comes in. I am just learning how not to be so confrontational. Yes I agree...

Tormek vs Veritas MkII Power Sharpening System

Too many veritas MK11’s. Scrit….I’m not condemning the Tormek and apologies if it comes over this way, I have used one for last 5 years but i still have trouble with square ended tools and blades. I’m reluctant to get rid of it because I have spent a lot of money on all the jigs. I couldn’t...

Tormek vs Veritas MkII Power Sharpening System

oh dear... the slope didnt take long after the meet......watch out or it'll be the Holteys next  Nick...I still find my Tormek slow and messy no matter how much pressure i put on it...I also find it very easy to mess up my edge by thinking i have it square in the jig then once i've...

Tormek vs Veritas MkII Power Sharpening System

Roger, I’m probably one of the few in the UK with both these systems……I also use a Jones and shipman for thinning and redoing bevels on blades. I have only had the Veritas MK11 power sharpener for a few weeks and wow I do like it. I got extra platters and grits but so far haven’t...
