old reviews Alf....apologies never read them but i will   i get bored too quickly reading long reviews so i sometimes tend to skip parts..sorry Derek I like the sound of different workbench heights but i am just a bit wary of lifting mine at present as it weighs a lot and not...

    Look what the postman brought.

Nick, On some infills they have these as well.....they are for keeping the blade central 'within reason' the infills use rivets so are unadjustable. they are not intended to lock the blade merely keeping the blade in the centre of the plane body. If its locked up tight then hunting...

Glen, The plane in the photo has a frog plate. Both pictures are of a Holtey A13 one is in kit form one is built some norris planes have adjusters some dont....depends on the original purchaser at the time if he wanted an adjuster. The buttons are not common to norris Ian

    Infill Design Issue

Geppeto, original Norris adjusters were similar but the smaller thread was LH. The larger thread is RH and with one turn of the adjuster it was very coarse movement with a fair bit of backlash. With this adjuster they are both RH threads the larger is 26tpi BSBrass thread and...

    Infill Design Issue

Glen, wood is natural and moves over time. The frog plays an important role in the fuction of a plane.... any plane....it has got to be flat and even across its width. some infills will use the wood as support others you will see 2 upper buttons. the tripod method. or 3 point support...

    Infill Design Issue

Hi Glen, we call it a frog...... without the addition of the frog in this case the backside of the blade wouldn't reach the sole due to the bevel of the 3/16" blade. infills are bevel down ...do you see what i mean Ian

Infill component planes...designed & manufactured by Hol

Hi Wendell, sorry i missed your post earlier....its been a busy day. It sounds like your hammer is maybe to big and you are hitting too hard. a very small hammer and 2 or 3 nice round tip punches dont inflict damage to surrounding areas and doesnt buckle the plane. Punches...
